Policies

Policies determine the conditions under which materials can be borrowed. The loan periods, costs of placing a hold, loan fees, amount of fines, etc. are recorded for each material type (RMT).

Policies for the system are established in the (TABPRO) Policy groups table and are determined at the system level, but policies can also be determined by customer group, for example: Youth, Adults, Schools, Institutions, etc. Policies are applied to a membership in Membership services and a main policy must be applied to each membership code. Wise allows libraries to configure policies from branch to branch by adding additional tables to this section of the Wise system.

Each policy is linked to a loan, fining, renewal, holds requests, and overdue notice method.
