Home group materials

Learn how to configure policies related to the number of items that can be checked out.

Home groups are used to limit how many items of a certain material type a customer can check out at one time.

Each home group is assigned a code, a description, and a maximum number of items a customer can borrow within this group. The number of items count toward the total number of borrowed items a customer's membership allows.

Field name Description
Policy table Home groups are configured per the Policy table. This field is automatically filled.
Product The membership type to which this policy applies from the drop-down list.
Home group The material type to which this policy applies. Use the Material type code designated in the (RMTSYS) RMT table definition.
Description A text description of the material type to which this policy applies.
Quantity The maximum number of items with this material type the customer may have checked out.

Example:

A customer can check out a maximum of 10 books, 2 CDs and 2 pieces of sheet music but all other materials are unrestricted.

A Home group policy must be established for each material type in this table.
