Renewal process

Costs associated with renewing items is defined in Renewal process within the Wise configuration manager.

 

The costs for renewing items are configured in the Renewal process. If lending fees are charged when renewing, that should be configured in Lending process

Create a Renewal process

  1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to Products and services > Policies > Policy configuration > Renewal process.
  2. Click Open next to your library organization.
  3. Click New at the top of the screen.
  4. Provide information for the Renewal process fields.
  5. Click Ok to save.

Renewal process details 

Fields 

Field name Description
Policy table Renewal processes are configured per the Policy definition table. This field is automatically filled by the system.
Renewal process A unique 2-digit code for referring to this Renewal process.
Valid from
Valid up to and including
The period in which a renewal process is valid must be included. Multiple periods can be stated per process/volume. The periods do have to line up and cannot overlap.
Description A text description of the Renewal process.

Tabs 

Each way of renewing can be configured to have its own renewal fee. These different methods for renewing are contained on the following tabs within the Renewal method:

  • B - Service Desk
  • I - Internet catalog
  • J - Wise App
  • P - Public catalog
  • S - Self-service
  • T - Telephone renewal
  • W - Internet workstation

Configure renewal methods on each tab.

Field name Description
Costs Renewal cost, per item, in dollars.
Double costs Double renewal cost, per item, in dollars.
Costs of session Costs per renewal session, in dollars.
Punches on punch cards Not for use in US libraries.
Duplicate punch card punches Not for use in US libraries.

Punch cards session

Not for use in US libraries.
Punch type

Not for use in US libraries.

Block renewal Check the box to block renewals when using this selected renewal method.
