My Menu configuration

The options that are offered to customers within the My account portal are defined within My Menu configuration.

The My Menu configuration controls which options are offered to the customer within My Account.

Create a My Menu configuration 

  1. In Wise configuration manager, go to Products and services > Membership > Card Configuration > My Menu configuration.
  2. Click Open next to your library organization.
  3. Click New at the top of the screen.
  4. Provide information for the My Menu configuration fields.
  5. Click Ok to save.

My Menu configuration fields 

Field name Description
Range My Menu configuration can be configured at the system or institution level. One or more My Menu configurations can be defined per institution.
My Menu configuration Enter a 2-digit number, these should be added consecutively.
Type

Select a type:

  • 0 - Normal/Defining: This is offered in Membership definitions and displays maximum possibilities.
  • 1 - Restrictive: This is used for a branch and/or at ports (e.g. information kiosk) and can be used to indicate which My Menu functions will not be supported by a branch or port in the public catalog.

Changes can be made to the following section for each configuration. Only the functional possibilities that are covered by your license are supported. Check the box to enable the function:

Function Description
Allowed to access financial data This option should be selected if your library uses Comprise SmartPAY. Customers can access information about fines from the Financial details screen in My account. A link to SmartPAY appears when this option is selected. 
Allowed to access financial collection settings Not for use in US libraries.
Can print direct debit authorizations Not for use in US libraries.
Ask for email address  Field is obsolete, do not select. 
Allowed to change email address and text messaging number Customers can change their email address and phone number within the My account details screen.
Allowed to renew Customers can renew checked out items in My Account. 
Allowed to change message preference Customers can update their Notification preferences in My Account.
Allowed to change branch Customers can change their default pickup branch. 
Allowed to change language Customers can change their preferred language for messages within Notification preferences in My Account.
Allowed to change address Customers can change their address and phone number within the My account details screen.
Allowed to report card loss Customers can Report loss of library card.
Can deactivate card Enables the Deactivate card option within My Account.
Allowed to place holds Customers can place holds on items within the web catalog. 
Allowed to cancel holds Customers can cancel holds that they have placed. 
Allowed to place holds on CDR Not for use in US libraries.
Allowed to reserve Library-At-Home Not for use in US libraries.
Allowed to request ILL via National Library Not for use in US libraries.
Allowed to view ticket list Customers are able to view and manage tickets.
Allowed to view message history Customers can view previous Inbox messages
May manage material requests Customers can submit requests for items to be purchased. See Customer request form for more information. 
Allowed to view log history Customers are able to print a full list of checked out or previously checked out items.
Allowed to view personal recommendations Customers can view the Personal recommendations section of My Account.
Can use online payments This option should be selected if your library uses EnvisonWare Online Payments. Customers can access information about fines from the Financial details screen in My account. 
Can opt-in to newsletter subscription Customers can choose to subscribe to the Newsletter.
Customer tags for newsletters (etc.) are allowed newsletters  
Allowed to create personal profile Not for use in US libraries.
Allowed to have new arrivals subscription Customers can subscribe to Areas of interest emails in Notification preferences. 
Allowed cultural profile subscription Not for use in US libraries.
Allowed to submit purchasing request Not for use in US libraries.
Allowed to submit requests freely Not for use in US libraries.
Allowed to change Membership Customers can change their membership type. 
Allowed to enable/disable "Report title-previously-borrowed" Customers have the ability to enable or disable the Notify at checkout for previously borrowed titles option within the My account details screen. 
Community participation allowed Customers are able to create a Community profile and participate in Community functions
Allowed to place holds on external items Not for use in US libraries.
Can change delivery process Not for use in US libraries.
