Replace a hold title

Learn how to replace the title associated with a hold request.

As long as a hold request still has the status A - Active/Processing and no item has been linked to the request, you can replace the title. For example, you might use this option when a new edition of the title is available before the request is linked.

To replace a title:

  1. Search for the hold request.
  2. Double-click on the request you want to change. The Hold request screen opens.
  3. Click Change at the bottom of the screen to edit the request.
  4. Click on the ... button next to the title. A catalog window opens.
  5. Search for the title that will replace the existing request.
  6. Select the replacement item and click Select at the bottom of the screen. The hold request is updated and you are returned to the Hold request screen.
  7. Click OK to save the changes. The number of the hold request remains the same.
