Set PIN and Reset password

Learn how to reset a customer password in the Customer administration section of the Wise staff client.

​Customer PINs and passwords can be reset within the Wise client within the Customer menu in the Customer administration screen. Customers can also reset their passwords and PINs within the My Account details menu.  

Set PIN

Customers can use a PIN code for self-checkout and to access electronic resources. To set or change a customer's PIN, go to Customer > Set PIN. A Set PIN window opens, this window indicates whether or not the customer has already set a PIN. To change the PIN, enter the desired 4-digit pin into the New PIN field and click OK.

Reset password

If a customer forgets their password, it can be reset in the Wise staff client. Customer passwords are used to sign in to My Account

 Note: For security purposes, old passwords cannot be viewed within the Wise staff client. If a customer forgets their password, it must be reset. 

  1. Go to Customer > Reset password. A confirmation message appears.
  2. Click Yes to reset the password. The option to create a one-time password appears.
    • Click Yes to allow the system to generate a temporary password. The assigned password will appear on the screen, or if the computer is connected to a receipt printer, the temporary password can be printed and handed to the customer. The customer can use this temporary password to reset their password in My Account.

 Note: Only randomly generated passwords can be created from the Wise staff client. To change a password to what the customer chooses, customers must sign in to My account and change their password. Customer passwords must consist of 8 or more characters and contain at least 1 capital letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 digit and 1 character (!, @, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), ?).

If a customer has not created a password, Reset password is not available.
