Port properties
A port is associated with the branch to which the PC belongs. In turn, a branch belongs to an institution. The settings of a port cannot be changed in the staff client, they are configured in the Wise configuration manager at Ports. The Port properties tab displays information about the machine being used. The only editable functions on the Port profiles tab are Debug level and Access code.
- Ports define the local PC on which you work (who I am); these can include self-service terminals.
- Profiles define the behavior (how and when I do what); a profile is separate from a branch. This allows multiple branches to use the same profile.
The Port properties tab displays the following port information:
Field | Description |
---|---|
ID | Port |
PortID | Port ID |
Description | Name of the port Wise client |
Management port | TCP port for Management of Wise client |
Cash drawer number |
Only required if the branch has more than one cash drawer. Enter the drawer code established in Wise configuration manager without the K. For more information, see Cash drawer details. |
Debug level |
The debug level is for server logging. The settings on the Log & Debug tab are intended for the logs of the staff client. A level can be selected from the drop-down list to determine how sensitive the port is to alerts. If LEVEL_FATAL is selected, only the least commonly occurring "fatal errors" are displayed in the logs. We recommend selecting the LEVEL_INFO or LEVEL_DEBUG |
PC in branch | Specify where the client PC is physically located in the branch |
Access code |
Defined on the Service Desk Profiles tab. If no access code is entered, an access code will be requested when you start. Once an access code is entered, the client will always start automatically with the entered access code.
