Ports
Ports are defined in the Wise configuration manager at Port and profile management > Ports.
Service desk
Settings for each workstation with the Wise client installed are defined in Service desk.
Detail
The following fields appear after clicking the Detail button.
Field | Description |

Client type | Automatically defined by the system - B - Balie. |
Port |
The unique ID associated with the workstation. This field can be changed when replacing a computer with a new one. |
Status |
The status of the workstation. Possible statuses are:

Branch |
The branch associated with the port. |
Description | Description of the port. |
Cash drawer | The cash drawer associated with the workstation. |
Profile | Number and description of the Wise client profile used. |
Access code |
Entering the access code associated with the user allows automatic log-in to the client when the access code is entered. |
Catalog definition | The catalog definition used for the workstation. |
My Menu configuration | The My menu configuration code associated with the workstation. |
Latitude | Not for use in US libraries. |
Longitude | Not for use in US libraries. |
Environment | The java version that the workstation is running. |
Sound
Sounds can be configured per port by clicking on the Sound button. Sounds are selected for each notification or action within the Wise client. Predefined sound files are installed by OCLC during the implementation process.
Configuration
Configuration settings for a specific workstation can be set in the manager or in the Client. See Workplace Management Configuration for more information.
Internet catalog
The Internet catalog port is where functions associated with the online catalog are defined.
- In the Wise configuration manager, go to OCLC Wise > Ports and profiles > Ports > Internet catalog.
- Click New to create a new port connection or click Detail next to an existing port connection to make changes. The Ports window opens.
- Enter ports configuration details. To edit existing information, select Change.
Field Description Client type Automatically filled by the system, I - Internet catalog. Port Enter a recognizable name for the port. Branch Select the branch location from the drop-down list to indicate which location the title info column should display. Description Enter a text description for the port. Profile Select the carousel profile you would like to display in the Internet catalog from the drop-down list. Catalog definition No information necessary. Language No information necessary. My Menu configuration No information necessary. - Click OK to save.
Pubcat
The Pubcat port allows you to configure settings for catalog kiosks within your library.
- In the Wise configuration manager, go to OCLC Wise > Ports and profiles > Ports > Pubcat.
- Click New to create a new port connection or click Detail next to an existing port connection to make changes. The Ports window opens.
- Enter ports configuration details. To edit existing information, select Change.

SIP terminals
SIP terminals are used to define third-party integrations in Wise.

A descriptive name of the SIP terminal. The following naming convention should be used: S[branch code][vendor name][number] i.e.: S0001Kanopy01 |
Status |
The status of the workstation. Possible statuses are:

Is nation-wide lending allowed? | Not for use in US libraries. |
Branch | The branch associated with the terminal. |
Description | Description of the terminal. |
Cash drawer | The cash drawer code associated with the SIP terminal. |
Bank | The bank code associated with the SIP terminal. |
Password | The password you create for the SIP Terminal will also need to match the password for that login under systemWise > Access Codes and Authorizations > Access Authorizations. |
Profile | The Self service system (SSS) profile associated with this port. |
Port info group |
Port info groups are used for clarification in reports. The following options are available:
