Titles system tables

The system tables found in Titles support Category codes.

Titles system tables are located in the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Titles and SCAT management > Titles > System tables

System tables for titles

Table name Description
(TABLFT) Target audience

The definition of the age categories of the titles.

The standard age categories are:

  • A - Preschool
  • B - Primary
  • C - Tween
  • D - Teen
  • E - Adult
  • F - Specialized
  • G - General
  • J - Juvenile
(TABPCL) PICA age groups

Not for use in US libraries.

(TABAVI) AVI reading level codes The definition of the AVI codes. Displays the difficulty level of the reading material. Do not change the sort order.
(TABPIM) PIM categories

Not for use in US libraries.

(TABNBC) NBD categories

Definition of the NBD category.

(TABL21) Title language (MARC21)

Defines title language codes. Language is based on the MARC21 standard.

In this table, you can also select a searchlight language group and block borrowing privileges based on the language of the title. 

(TABTTL) Language for title (Pica3)

Not for use in US libraries.

(TABC21) Country of publication (MARC 21) Contains codes for the country of publication according to MARC21 standards. These codes are used for title descriptions. 
(TABLVU) Country of publication (Pica3)

Not for use in US libraries.

(TABRLS) Relation types

No longer in use. Replaced with the Relationships function in the staff client.

(TABRCD) State codes

Not currently in use in US libraries. Defines codes for regional catalogs.

(X57) Source title Defines the source of the title. The description of the code appears in the title changes screen under Source
(TABX58) Literary Form Defines a local code for selections.
(TABPCS) Titlesubs This table was only in use when the word index was not yet available. Do not make changes to this table without consultation from OCLC.
(MDT) Media type

 Note: Use the field Icon media to select the icon to display in the web catalog. The field, Web icon, is not currently used in the US market.

Defines the different media types for items. Media types are connected to materials in the table (RMTSYS) RMT table definition. This is a 3-character code to represent media types.

(TABSLT) SISO country/language table Auxiliary table to fill the country/language part of the SISO.
(TABPRE) Presentation type Definition of the presentation types used. Presentation types were previously used for defining sub-catalogs, but systems can now be set up with only one presentation type. Books must be coded 0. 
(TABWDD) Word groups

The definition of the word catalog. The description of code 0 is shown by default. When using multiple groups, the following definitions are required:

  • 1 = titles
  • 2 = authors
  • 3 = subjects

Use 0 to include words in the word index but not in a specific group.

(TABPCE) BcPica processes Definition of existing methods that play a role in the Bcpica table. Maintained by OCLC.
(TABPCR) Supply groups Definition of the groups of order files. Maintained by OCLC.
(TLSTBL) Status (free code) Not for use in US libraries.
(TABNUR) Dutch Classified Uniform Format Not for use in US libraries. 
(TABRDA) Author Function Not for use in US libraries.
