Customer badge definitions
Customer badge types can be defined within the Wise configuration manager. Once created, badges are assigned to customers within the Wise Client.
Use badges to label customers to be able to quickly see a description or permission level. Once created in the Manager, badges can be assigned to customer accounts in the Wise client. See the Badges tab for more information about assigning badges.
Staff with permission to edit Customer information in the Manager can create and edit badges.
system option CUSTBDG must be enabled to use this feature.
Note: TheCreate customer badges
- In the Wise manager, go to OCLC Wise > Customers > Customer badge definitions.
- Click Open next to your library.
- Click New at the top of the screen. The Badge definition window opens.
- Enter badge details:
- Badge code: A designated 4 character badge code.
- Badge name: Name of the badge that will display in the client. Limit 50 characters, which can include numbers, letters, and the following special characters: - _ ! , : ; ?
- Institution: The institution where this badge is available.
- Badge description: Optional description of the badge. Limit 500 characters, which can include numbers, letters, and special characters.
- Active?: Select this box to make the badge available for selection in the client.
- Click OK to save.
Edit customer badges
- In the Wise manager, go to OCLC Wise > Customers > Customer badge definitions.
- Click Open next to your library.
- Click Detail next to the badge to edit. The Badge definition window opens.
- Select Change to edit the badge details:
- Badge code: A designated 4 character badge code.
- Badge name: Name of the badge that will display in the client. Limit 50 characters, which can include numbers, letters and the following special characters: . - _ ! , : ; ?
- Institution: The institution where this badge is available.
- Badge description: Optional description of the badge. Limit 500 characters, which can include numbers, letters and special characters.
- Active?: Select this box to make the badge available for selection in the client.
- Click OK to save.
Copy customer badges
- In the Wise manager, go to OCLC Wise > Customers > Customer badge definitions.
- Click Open next to your library.
- Click Detail next to the badge to edit. The Badge definition window opens.
- Select Copy.
- Edit the badge details as needed. Enter a unique Badge code.
- Badge code: A designated 4 character badge code.
- Badge name: Name of the badge that will display in the client. Limit 50 characters, which can include numbers, letters and the following special characters: . - _ ! , : ; ?
- Institution: The institution where this badge is available.
- Badge description: Optional description of the badge. Limit 500 characters, which can include numbers, letters and special characters.
- Active?: Select this box to make the badge available for selection in the client.
- Click OK to save.
