Mark an item as missing

Learn how to mark an item as missing.

The Missing feature allows you to report an item that is in your collection as Missing. If the item is found and checked in, the Missing status is removed. Items with status B (Available), D (At automation), R (Reserved), K (Collection), and T (Transit) can be reported missing.

To mark an item as missing:

  1. From the Item detail screen of the item you want to mark as missing, go to Status > Missing. A confirmation message appears.
  2. Click Yes. The item status is updated to M - Missing.

When an item is marked as missing, Wise also checks for other editions of the same title. If no other copies are left anywhere in the system (the same edition or any other edition) a notification will display alerting the user that there are no other copies. 

When a missing item is checked in, a notification that the "Item was missing" appears. Click OK. The item status will update to Available, or if it is on hold, an action message will appear.
