Place materials on transport

In some situations, your branch may want to manually place an item on transport. For example, another branch makes  a request for specific items for a lecture or exhibit. To manually transport items:

  1. Create a special customer card for the receiving library.
  2. Check out the requested items to the card.
  3. Place the items in the transport crate. The materials are not really placed on transport, so no slip is created.
  4. (Optional) Print a Borrowing overview of checked-out materials to include with the materials.

Once the items arrive at the receiving library, that branch should not check in the items. Instead, the items should be checked out to the card of the customer, or if the items will remain at the receiving branch, they should be checked out on an internal card or remain not checked out.

Once the items are checked in, they are included on the regular transport procedure and placed on transit back to the owning branch.
