Pick-up branches

Hold requests must be picked up at a pick up branch. Usually, this is the customer's home branch, where they registered for their library card. However, a different pick-up location can be selected when a hold is placed. This might be necessary if a branch is closed for a period of time, for example during a renovation. Customers can pick up materials during that period from an alternate branch.

Change pick up branch

The pick up branch can be changed even after the hold request status reaches T - Transport, O - Received or B - Message received.

To change the pick up branch:

  1. Go to the hold request details screen for the item you want to change.
  2. Click Change at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Change the Pick up/Deliver location to the desired location.
  4. If the Status is B - Message received or O - Received, change it to T - Transport. 
  5. Click OK to save.

After the change is made, the item can be put directly on transport to the new pick up location without additional steps in the system. The item will be checked in by the new pick up branch.

Temporary pick up location

If a location closes temporarily during a renovation, an alternate pick-up branch can be selected for that location. This can be configured in the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Holds and ILL > Temporary pick-up branch
