The following is a list of recent updates and bug fixes. For more information, contact OCLC Support

 Note: Weekly updates will be present in Wise Test instances on the Wednesday of the week indicated below, and in Production the following Monday.

Client - Customer administration The Process button on the patron deduplication screen within Customer administration is displaying in Dutch. The Process button on the patron deduplication screen has been translated and is now displaying in English. 12/15/2022
Client - Customer support - messages When attempting to create a new message the screen cannot be expanded therefore details are not visible in thier entirety. This screen is now expandable and displays all details as expected. 12/7/2022
OPAC - Catalog In the search results screen, online resources are marked as "Unavailable." The text "Unavailable" is no longer displayed if the title is an online resource. 11/23/2022
OPAC - Checkout The minimum age (specified in the regulation definitions and the associated borrowing method of the material) was not being respected at checkout. The "customer is too young" message was being displayed. An adjustment has been made and youth blocks are now working as intended. 11/23/2022
Client - Statistics and Selections - Selections When making a selection of actors that have a block on their account, incomplete results were shown. Blocks set at the system level were not taken into account when making selections. The query has been expanded to include blockages set at the system level and the current working authority level. 11/16/2022
Client - Titles - Order administration - import titles Titles that include an @ symbol, the @ was omitted from the title. When reading an offer file, and when importing a title, the @ symbol is now displaying correctly. 11/16/2022
OPAC - My Account When using the "request new password" email to login to My Account, a terms and conditions pop-up appears blocking the customer from changing their password and logging in. Customers can now use this email to change their password and login without to "My Account," as expected. 11/4/2022
Marketing Workbench - select customers When selecting Loan History > Author > Borrowed from author (24 months) it appears that no results are found. Results are now appearing as expected. 10/18/2022
Portal On some pages in the portal, the Community Actions were appearing at the top of the page. The Community Actions are now appearing as expected at the bottom of the affected pages. 10/18/2022
Client - Order Administration When opening an invoice in order administration, the receipt status is not filled in when the instance status in the order line is K. The receiving status of the instance is now populated with status K. This status occurs when the BST2GBK option is active and electronic invoices are processed. 10/18/2022
Client - Statistics and Selections Selections with holds as the source do not give a result if you choose a delivery method. The correct field is now being looked at during the search. This has been corrected and the results are now displaying correctly. 10/5/2022
RESTAPI - Marketing Workbench If a customer selection on Loan History > Subject > Borrowed Subject (24 months) was made, nothing could be filled in. The REST endpoint is not being found when starting the application. The configuration of the application has been adjusted. The endpoint can now be found when starting the application. 10/5/2022
Client - Reports In the 'Outstanding items per customer' report, all actors without a card number are being grouped under 1 actor without a number. Actors are now being shown separately. If there is no card number present, the actor number will be shown with an '@' in front of the number. 10/5/2022
Port and profile management - SSS profiles For libraries will automatic sorting machines, an adjustment has been made in the SSS profile.

A new option has been added in the SSS profile: Maintain status R with (repeated) automatic sorting.

Client - Customer administration Changing an address of an administrative or special card, it was also possible to delete a business address. As a result, messages were no longer being sent.

An adjustment was made so that the when changes to these address details are made, you are notified if an address is missing. Therefore, It is no longer possible for an "empty" address to arise.

Client - Financial - Registrations When sorting by date, items are being sorted alphabetically instead of by date. Sorting by date is not working as expected. 9/20/2022
Client - Customer administration - Checkout registrations The full amount is being settled in the checkout block if 0.00 is entered as the amount paid.

The 'OK' button is now activated if an amount greater than 0.00 has been entered.

Client - Messages Messages in 'Print Messages' not being sorted correctly. The messages are now being sorted based on the sort choice. 9/20/2022
Messages - CAE (and also CAU, CAJ, CAT, CAE, CAO) These messages were selected by unique actor_id. If an actor is a member in multiple instances and the subscription expires in both instances at the same time, only a single message will be created. When selecting messages, the selection is now made on actor combined with the location. A separate message is now created for each subscription (for various locations). 9/13/2022
Portal - Subscriptions Some customers are incorrectly receiving "subscription 0" after not being subscribed for an extended period of time. All customers will now receive the correct subscription status when re-enrolling. 9/13/2022
Client - Customer Administration On occasion the Customer Administration was not opening properly. This issue has been resolved. Customer Administration is now opening as expected. 8/30/2022
Client - Catalog When using Searchlight to search in the catalog, the fourth search yields no results. This issue has been resolved. All catalog searches are yielding results as expected. 8/30/2022
Client - Selections After preforming a fixed selection (with a result) the screen jumps to the bottom of the fixed selection, including associated criteria. The last fixed selection that was preformed remains selected and displays the associated criteria. 8/23/2022
Client - Customer - Overviews - Number of customer badges Actors with a new customer badge were not immediately being included in the 'Number of customer badges' overview. The 'Number of customer badges' overview is now immediately picking up all actors with a Customer badge. 8/23/2022
Client - Customer administration - set pin When attempting to create a new PIN for an actor, there is no way to distinguish if the PIN was already in use by the actor or if the new PIN did not meet the length requirements.

A message will now appear:

  • PIN must consist of 4 numbers
  • New PIN must not be equal to the current PIN

Client - Statistics and Selections Preforming a selection using the Selection line parameters: L - Logfile > Source > H, throws a communication problem [900] error. This has been fixed. The selection can now be preformed without error. 8/9/2022
OPAC - Search results (records) Place hold and checkout buttons not appearing on OverDrive materials when OverDrive Advantage is configured. Place hold and checkout buttons are appearing on OverDrive Advantage materials in both search results and view full title view in the OPAC. 8/2/2022
OPAC

Title type E records are no longer showing the attributes of title type E records.

  • In addition to the "More info" button on the search results page, there is text stating, 'Holds not allowed on title'.
  • There is no link to the resource on the full title view.
  • Instead of an "Access Online" button on the full title view there is text stating, 'Holds not allowed on title'.

Title type E records are now showing title type E attributes in the OPAC.

  • On the search results page, there is now a "More info" button leading to the full title view.
  • A link to the resource is now appearing on the full title view.
  • On the full title view, there is an "Access Online" button that leading to the resource.

Client - Items - Link with order files When linking a new copy of a previously linked order item, the Link with order files screen displayed the item price for the previously linked order item. This has been fixed. The Link screen displays the correct item price for the item being linked. 7/26/2022
Client - Items - Edit by Group 1 screen When selecting a new branch for an item on the Edit by Group 1 screen, the change was not saved to the Item details screen. This has been corrected. The new branch is reflected in the Item detail screen once you save your change. 7/26/2022
Client - Circulation - Check in and Check out When checking in or checking out items for a special borrower or administrative card, an error message appeared on the receipt for the following receipt types for lending:
  • 1 - Transaction receipt
  • 6 - Status receipt with transactions
This has been corrected. An error message no longer appears on receipts for receipt types for lending 1 (Transaction receipt) or 6 (Status receipt with transactions) 7/26/2022

Wise client - Customer administration Cannot reset password for Ticketwise customers and Newsletter customers in the client. It is now possible to reset a Ticketwise customer's password in the client. 7/12/2022
Wise client - Items - Overviews - Label work list Label work lists showed shelves locations if the abbreviation partially matched. Ex: SPR would also show PR.  Going forward the Label work lists only show the the selected shelves. 7/12/2022
OPAC - Search results (Records) MARC21 tag 110 subfield $a is not displaying on records when searching in the OPAC. If there is no author available in the record, the Marc21 tag 110 subfield $a (Prim. Corp. (Primary Corporation)) will now display in the search results and the full title view as the author. 7/5/2022
Wise client - Series change copies Series transactions - dropdown - Materials and Statistics and Selections - Set Type of Instances - Material Heading. The system looked at the wrong table. Now looks at the correct table. 7/5/2022
Wise client - Statistics and Selections != operator not working properly. Operator != query modified 7/5/2022
Wise client - clients Cannot enter and save longer messages within Customer contact. The maximum number of characters has been increased to 4096. An error message will now display id this number is exceeded. 7/5/2022
Staff client - Titles - Order administration In the Staff client - Order administration - order files screen. The explanation box is empty after selecting the bottom line. Explanation field is now filled. 7/5/2022
Wise client - Customer administration Special Customers (without loans) cannot be removed one after the other. First removing a customer, the 'Change' button becomes inactive/grayed out. Special customers (without loans) can now be removed one after the other. 7/5/2022
Wise client - Messages When creating an NBF, the maximum fine may not be charged. However, the fine is stated in the invoice as the material reimbursement method. The maximum fine is now being charged currently. 7/5/2022
Wise client When choosing from multiple locations when logging in to the client, only the branch name would appear in the role selection list. The branch number is now included in addition to the branch name in the role selection list. In addition, the role field is now an auto-suggest field that allows you to search for a specific role, branch number, or branch name. 7/5/2022
Wise client - Statistics and Selections Long running queries  were impacted by diminished performance and stability. This has been fixed. The role and role subscriptions have been combined more efficiently in the selections. This results in a faster run time for queries. 6/21/22
Wise client - Circulation When entering an end date for the Daily counts report, the start date entered is overwritten to match the end date. This has been fixed. The start date entered is no longer overwritten. 6/14/22
Wise client - Titles > Order administration When generating order overviews from the Order administration screen, the overview often took up to two minutes to generate. This has been fixed. The order overviews now generate within one minute. 5/31/22
Wise client - Customers When editing an administrative card, an existing first name could not be removed or changed. Any changes made would revert back to the original first name after saving. This has been fixed. The first name can be remove or changed for an administrative card. 5/17/22
Wise client - Statistics and Selections When selecting customers with an open registration in their own organization, only the active members were selected. This has been fixed. The members with an expired (status 9) subscription will also be selected. 5/17/22
Wise client - Items When importing order files, 949 $n (material type) was only mapped to bestel_verzoek.material_type column if the provided media type was configured in WISE. 949 $n (material type) now maps to the title - titel.materiaal in addition to bestel_verzoek.material_type column. 5/17/22
Wise configuration - systemWise When customers were upgraded from 7.0.0 to 7.0.1, salutation configuration reverted so messages were not using the correct salutations. This issue will be resolved with the release of 7.0.2. 5/17/22
Wise client - Statistics and Selections The empty set (Ø) option is present in the Selections tool even though it is not supported. The operator only works when it's looking at specific fields in the database (checking to see if that field is empty) and not when it's checking for missing records. The empty set (Ø) option has been removed from:
  • Set type: Customers
  • Category type: Customers
  • Category: ALGE
  • Selection: Block

Wise client - Branch management When sending a newsletter, the confirmation message did not contain the number of messages to be sent if Yes was selected in the First count the messages to check dialog. This has been fixed. The number of messages to be sent now appears. 5/10/22
Wise client - Catalog When requesting a periodical from the catalog, customers who have reached the maximum number of requests received the following message: There is no issue available that can be requested. This has been fixed. Customers who have reached the maximum number of requests now see the following message when requesting a periodical: Maximum number of allowed reservations (#) already reached. 5/10/22
Wise client - Customers The overview number of customer badges appears if the CUSTBDG option is not activated. This has been fixed. The overview number of customer badges is not shown if the option CUSTBDG is not activated. 5/10/22
Wise client - Check out When entering temporary barcodes (On-the-fly items), an error message appeared if the barcode was 8 characters long.  This has been fixed. 8 character barcodes with numbers and letters are now accepted.  4/27/22
Web catalog - My Account Within the customer address information in My Account, the capitalization in United States was incorrect. United states rather than United States appeared in the address information. This has been fixed. 4/27/22
Wise client - Notifications Opening a notification PDF did not work for branches that do not have an email sender and website configured.

This has been fixed. PDFs from branches without an email sender and website configured can now be opened.

Wise client - Customer administration

A shortcut did not work on the check out screen. 

From the check out screen, double-clicking in the yellow area did not open the Customer Administration screen for the selected customer. This has been fixed.

Web catalog - Holds Improvements have been made to the visibility of titles that cannot be placed on hold within the web catalog. Instead of the Place hold button, titles that cannot be reserved now say Holds not allowed 4/19/22
Web catalog - OverDrive When clicking a link to access content on OverDrive, the app suggestion pointed to LexisNexis rather than Libby.  This has been fixed. The app suggestion no longer points to LexisNexis.  4/12/22
Wise client - Customer administration It was possible to waive a fine without entering the reason, initials, or amount.  This has been fixed. These fields are once again required for waiving a fine.  4/12/22
Wise client - Items When creating a Discard overview, it was not possible to select multiple branches. This has been fixed. You can now select multiple branches in the Discard overview.  4/12/22
Wise client - Circulation When checking out items to an administrative account, the last and penultimate customers do not appear correctly on the Item details screen. This has been fixed. The correct customers now appear in the item details.  4/12/22
Wise client - Holds

The customer name did not appear on hold receipts if the Comment on receipt field was populated. 

This has been fixed. Names now appear on hold receipts when the Comment on receipt field is used.

Wise client - Catalog  Line spacing in the results screen for Titles searches has been adjusted.  Line spacing has been adjusted so that more titles now appear on the screen.  4/5/22
Web catalog - Cover art Cover art in the web catalog was displayed incorrectly.  The proportions of cover art in web catalog were incorrect. This has been fixed.  3/29/22
Wise client - Customers

When adding a customer who had previously been removed, a message appeared that a duplicate customer exists. 

This has been fixed. The duplicate customer message no longer appears.

Web catalog - Joomla

Joomla users were unable to perform searches in the web catalog containing a backslash symbol. (/) Searches with a backslash resulted in a 404 error. This has been fixed.  3/29/22

Wise client

Web catalog

The translation of the word Collation has changed to Physical description.  For clarity, the word Collation has changed to Physical description in multiple places within the Wise client and web catalog.  3/22/22

Wise client - Items 

Errors sometimes occurred when running the Checkout statistics overview.

If None was selected in the Details field when populating the overview, the results produced an error message. This has been fixed.  3/22/22

Marketing Workbench - Campaigns

Within the list of campaigns, each campaign was duplicated four times. 

This has been fixed. Campaigns now only appear once.

Wise client - Holds

The "ready until" date within hold pickup messages (Message type RSO) did not take into account days that the library was closed. 

If the "ready until" date fell on a day that the library was closed, this date was still listed in the message. This has been fixed. Hold pickup messages now take into account closed dates.  3/15/22
Wise client - Statistics and selections

Selections created using the Financial set type with a Customer selection source did not produce results. 

This has been fixed. 3/8/22
Wise client - Check in The transit message did not display in the notes field when items were checked in. This caused issues in determining whether an item needed to be sent to another location. This has been fixed. Transit information now appears in the Notes field.  3/1/22
Web catalog - Overdrive Attempting to check out an Overdrive title within the web catalog resulted in a system error.  This has been fixed, Overdrive titles are once again accessible.  3/1/22
Wise client - Statistics and selections

Attempting to export a selection resulted in a communication error. 

This has been fixed. Selections can now be exported from the Wise client.  3/1/22
Wise client - Items

The My Collection Branch field within the results of the Checkout statistics report was not populated. 

The correct numbers are now displayed within the My Collection Branch field.  3/1/22
Wise client - Statistics and selections

When creating a selection with a date range, the dates were not automatically updated if the first date was later than the second. 

This problem occurred when using a field that pulls information from a range of dates. (For example, from 10/5/21 to 11/5/22)

This has been fixed. If non-sequential dates are selected in these fields, the first date is now automatically adjusted.

Wise configuration manager - Management Organizations It was not possible to use keyboard shortcuts within the Branches table of the Wise configuration manager. This is fixed, keyboard shortcuts now work.  3/1/22
Wise client - Titles Merging and overlaying titles resulted in a new title being added. This has been fixed. New titles are no longer generated when merging and overlaying.   2/22/22
Wise client - Statistics and selections

It was no longer possible to use the pipe character ( | ) within Selections.

This has been fixed. The pipe character ( | ) can now be used.

Wise client - File management

When saving a document from File management, the explorer opens, but not in the path where the document is saved. 

The correct folder now opens. This issue was caused by either a space or the & character in the file path.

Wise client – Catalog A new index (Target Audience) has been added to the list of indexes for searching items in your catalog. You can now query the staff catalog for titles containing values from the Target audience field. 2/15/22
Wise client - Changing collections

When moving an item from a rotating collection, the next location was not always picked up. 

This has been fixed, the next location is now selected.

Wise client - Items

Creating a replacement cost bill for an item was not possible when the Last customer id field was empty. 

You can now search for and choose the customer you would like to create a replacement cost bill for, regardless of if they had previously checked out the item.

Wise configuration manager - (PLT) Locations/Shelf

Within the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Items and Locations > Local location management > (PLT) Location / shelf, the Description (internal only) field could not be saved if it was longer than 30 characters.

The limit for this field has been updated to 80 characters.

Wise client - Branch management When updating debug logging within the Wise client at Branch management > Workplace management > Log file On/off, the setting change was not reflected at Branch management > Workplace management > Configuration > Log & Debug until the Wise client was restarted. This has been fixed. The debug settings are now reflected within Workplace management > Configuration > Log & Debug 2/8/22
Wise client - Periodicals management When receiving a periodical issue, the location comment was not shown immediately after receiving. The location comment sometimes took several minutes to load. This has been fixed. 2/1/22
Wise client - Customer administration The option to restore same-day payments for customer fines resulted in an error message. This has been fixed. The restore payment option is now working. 1/25/22
Web catalog - My account In the web catalog, when a customer attempted to sign in using a temporary password on any screen other than the login drop-down, they were prompted to reset their password when attempting to access any page within My Account. This has been fixed. The reset password loop no longer occurs. 1/25/22
Wise client - Statistics and selections The Usage per branch/location and Usage per branch/customer category reports showed a different number of loans over the same time period.  This has been fixed, there is no longer a discrepancy. 1/25/22
Wise client - Customer administration  When searching for customers at the same address, certain cards were not always recognized.  This has been fixed, customers at the same address are now shown.  1/18/22
Wise client - Fines If an invoice is created from an item with status B (Available) via the Item details screen at Status > Create replacement cost bill, and the invoice is not printed immediately, the bill will appear in Overdue/Replacement cost bills, but cannot be printed.  The invoice no longer appears in Create replacement cost bill. The invoice can be printed within the customer account at Customer > Print customer materials > Replacement cost bill.  1/18/22
Wise configuration manager - systemWise > Access codes and authorizations Changes have been made to the Items management (EXEMPLAARONDERHOUD) role function.  The ability to change the branch and send items back to owner via Item batch changes now requires the Items management (EXEMPLAARONDERHOUD) role at the 7-7-0 level.  1/11/22
Wise client - Statistics and Selections Several categories within the Titles and Items selection sources were added and removed.

The following changes were made within the Items and Titles selection sources:

Wise client - Branch Management If a Service desk procedure is set to option 6 - Transaction receipt/status, the receipt was not printed.  This has been fixed. Service desk procedures set to option 6 - Transaction receipt/status now print receipts.  1/4/22
