Cluster administrator

Find information about defining clusters to determine which branches are able to sell tickets.

Clusters are used to define which branch locations can sell or distribute tickets for events at other branch locations. Clusters are administered in the Wise configuration manager.

Each independent use of Wise Ticketing is controlled by its own cluster code. In Wise Ticketing, each cluster code begins with the letter K. When staff sign into the staff client, the cluster is searched and captured for the session.

Clusters

At least one cluster must be created in the system in order for Wise Ticketing to function. To create a cluster:

  1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to ticketWise > Cluster administrator > Clusters.
  2. Click New. The Cluster window opens.
  3. Enter Cluster information:
    Field Description
Cluster code (K) Enter a cluster code (3-characters maximum)
Financial organization Select a financial organization from the drop-down list.
Organization Select an organization from the drop-down list.
Description Enter a text description of the cluster.
Catch-up period Enter the number of days (maximum 7) after the sales date of an activity in which tickets can still be sold (post-sales).
Default layout of web ticket Select the standard layout for web tickets from the drop-down list.
Default layout of service desk ticket Select the standard layout for service desk tickets from the drop-down list.
  1. Click OK to save.

Cluster range

The cluster scope specifies the roles that an instance has. When a role is not set, a warning message displays when you open Event management in the staff client. To configure the cluster range:

  1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to ticketWise > Cluster administrator > Cluster range.
  2. Click Open next to the cluster. The cluster range table opens.
  3. Click New to add a cluster range. The Cluster range window opens.
  4. Enter cluster range information:
    Field Description
Cluster code Automatically filled by the table with the cluster code selected.
    Branch role

Select a branch role from the drop-down list:

    Role Description
B  - Accept as library customer

This role is for customers who do not have a library membership but can purchase tickets.

T - Accept as theater customer

Not for use in US libraries.

V - Allowed to sell tickets

Allows tickets to be sold to other branches.

C - Institution (in range) falls within cluster Cluster definition rule. This option should only be used if the range is defined as an institution rather than a branch. When this rule is selected, tickets can be sold for the institution.
P - Parameter management for cluster xyz (branch in range) Not for use in US libraries.
H - Main branch (main branch for this cluster) Not for use in US libraries.
K - Institutions for selections Not for use in US libraries.
Range Select the range of locations to which this role applies.
  5. Click OK to save.

  2. Click Open next to your library system.
  3. Click New. The Cluster option window opens.
  4. Provide Cluster option information:
