(SCT) Statistical category titles/items

The (SCT) Statistical category titles/items table is used to create SCAT codes. The SCAT conversion table is then used to determine what SCAT code is used for titles based on title data.

To create or edit a Statistical category for titles:

1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to OCLC Wise > Titles and SCAT management > SCAT management > (SCT) Statistical category titles/items.
2. Click New at the top of the page, or to edit an existing SCAT, click Detail. The Statistical categories - Items window opens.
3. Provide the information about the SCAT. To change existing values, click Change.

   Field	Description
   Type	Automatically filled by the system (SCT)
   Branch	4-digit branch code, automatically filled by the system
   Code	4-digit SCAT code
   Description	Description (limit 20 characters)
   NBD category	Not in use by US libraries

4. Click OK to save. ​
