Floating collections configuration

Find information about floating collection configuration settings.

Settings related to Floating collections are defined in the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Collections > Floating collections. Floating collections allow libraries to share ownership of items among multiple branches. For example, if a book is checked out at branch A but returned at branch B, it then is owned by branch B upon check in if branch A previously owned the item for at least 30 days.

Note: When the system option NFLTERM is enabled, the 30 day period is ignored if the item is returned to the original location.

Specific branches can be configured to allow floating within the Wise configuration manager at Management organizations > Networks and branch groups > (TABVSG) Branch group types

(TABFLC) Floating collections

Note: If an error appears while adding a new Floating collection, check the RMTSYS table for a permanent floating block per material type.

Option FLTNOKC

When floating items are checked in, if the system cannot determine a shelving location based on shelf configuration, Wise will assign shelf code XXX.
