Wise performs two newsletter jobs, configured in the Wise configuration manager:
- NWSBRFA - sends directly to one customer
- NWSBRFM - sends to multiple customers
These jobs must be enabled to allow the system to send messages. To enable these jobs, contact OCLC Support.

Newsletter configuration in the Wise configuration manager
Newsletter messages are created with the message class B and newsletter texts are represented in Wise configuration manager > SystemWise > Messages > Messages on the Messages tab as:
- BRCHT_BRF KA - Ready-made newsletters per customer
- BRCHT_BRF KM - Ready-made newsletter per set of customers (multi)
- BRCHT_BRF SA - Compound newsletter per customer
- BRCHT_BRF SM - Compound newsletter per set of customers (multi)
Newsletter texts are configured in Wise configuration manager > SystemWise > Messages > Messages on the Texts tab. For these entries, only text group 01 needs to be provided. That line will provide the title of the newsletter.
Configure organization details
Email and server information must be entered correctly for each Branch in the Wise configuration manager. These details are configured in the Wise configuration manager > OCLC Wise > Management organizations > Branch on the Address details tab. Contact your system administrator for assistance with populating the following details:
Field | Description | Example |
---|---|---|
Name | Shows in messages sent by the library as the sender. | From: Main library |
Email address general |
When an email message is opened, the content of this field is included with the sender. This sender address is also used as a bounce-back address when the message cannot be delivered. In a newsletter, a different sender address can be selected from this standard. The alternative email address will be entered in the Wise configuration manager. The client can select from the options that have been entered. |
From: <Main library> 456@yourlibrary.org |
Website | Web address is used with ready-made link formats. | www.yourlibrary.org |
Application server URL | Used in link formats, to click through to titles in the catalog and for retrieval of images. | http://yourlibrary.oclc.org |
