Check out

To check out items within the Wise Console:

  1. Navigate to the Circulation tab.
  2. Select the Check out tab.
  3. Scan or enter a customer barcode or name in the Customer search field. If using a mobile device with a camera, you can click on the barcode icon in the customer search field to scan the library card with the device's camera.
  4. Suggested results will populate below the field. The customer's last and first name, library card number, branch, email (if provided), and phone number (if provided) are shown for each potential match. Click or use your keyboard arrow keys to highlight and select the desired result.
  5. Once a customer record has been selected, the customer's barcode as well as other identifying information will display below the check out fields.
  6.  Scan or enter an item barcode in the Item barcode field. If using a mobile device with a camera, you can click on the barcode icon in the item barcode field to scan the item's barcode using the camera. The item is added to the check out list in the table below. Click the chevron located to the left of the item to view more details.
  7.  Once check out is complete, click End session to complete the transaction. A confirmation message appears at the bottom of the screen, and the table is cleared.
    • To cancel a check out instead, click More actions at the top right of the page and select Cancel check out
  8. Checkout is session-based.  You can choose to check out items to multiple patrons within a session, and then print receipts for all checked-out patrons at the end of the session.  While a session is open, the data (patrons, checked out items) will remain active in the check-out window, even if you navigate away and come back.

Print receipt(s)

To print receipt(s) for patrons at the end of the session:

  1. Toggle the Print receipt(s) slider so that that slider turns blue (default toggle: on).
  2. When the Print receipt(s) toggle is on, select the End session button, and a pop-up window will open.
  3. Select which customer(s) from the session need a printed receipt.
  4. Select Print to print individual customer receipts.

Note: To ensure all receipts are visible in your browser, please reference the following instructions for allowing pop-ups for the following browsers:
