(TABKSC) ShelfCon classification

​ Shelf conversion rules are assigned in the (TABKSC) ShelfCon classification table. This table must include at least one classification definition in order for the system to function correctly. If a branch or group of branches uses structurally different placements, multiple ShelfCon conversions can be defined. The ShelfCon code is applied to each branch in Management organizations > Branches on the Items tab, in the ShelfCon [shelf configuration] classification field. For more information, see Items tab.

To assign or edit a ShelfCon classification:

1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to OCLC Wise > Items and Locations > Local location management > (TABKSC) ShelfCon classification.
2. Click New to create a new assignment, or click Detail next to a line to edit.  The Shelf con. window opens.
3. Enter or update shelf conversion information:

   Field	Description
   Type	Automatically filled by the system (KSC)
   Code	A unique classification code
   Description	Description of the shelf classification
   Alternative format	An alternate shelf can be added to act as a fallback mechanism for the shelf conversion. Any shelf added here must also be present in the branch's PLT table.
   Classification	A BISAC code can be entered to automatically assign the correct shelf when linking new items.   Note: The BISAC table in Wise > Titles and SCAT management will still be used to store BISAC code definitions.

4. Click OK to save.
