Catalog definitions configuration

Learn how to configure catalog functions in Wise.

Catalog definitions is located in the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Catalog > Catalog definitions

Catalog definitions table

The Catalog definitions table defines how a catalog looks based on the organization and staff permission. Within Catalog definitions, you can configure which options are available in the catalog menus. A user's role in combination with their login determines which catalog definition is selected upon logging into the staff client. This is configured in Access codes and authorizations.

This table is read-only. To request changes to the Catalog definitions table, contact OCLC Support.

Caution: It is possible to create a New line in this table, but lines cannot be edited or removed.

Default catalog definitions

Subcatalogs

The Subcatalogs table displays which subcatalogs are defined within a catalog. Subcatalogs can be used in one or more catalog definition. Subcatalogs appear in the staff client catalog, in the drop-down list next to the Search field. For more information, see Search the catalog.

This table is read-only. To request changes to the catalog definitions, contact OCLC Support.
