Calendar management

Learn how to manage the calendar within the Wise configuration manager.

Library calendars can be adjusted manually in the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Calendar > Calendar management

Change date status

To change date statuses on a calendar:

  1. In the Wise configuration manager, navigate to OCLC Wise > Calendar > Calendar management.
  2. Click Open next to your library system. Your branches display.
  3. Click Open next to the branch to change that branch calendar. The available calendar years display.
  4. Click Detail next to the calendar year you want to change. The calendar window opens.
  5. Select Change at the bottom of the window. You can now make changes to the calendar.
  6. (Optional) Use << or >> to move backward or forward through the calendar.
  7. Click on a date to make a selection. A calendar status list opens.
  8. Select a status from the list to change the date's status:
    • Opened - the library is open, dates appear in green
    • Closed - the library is closed, dates appear in red
    • Vacation - No fines/overdue fees are charged for this date. Dates appear in pink
    • Fine-free Day - no fines are calculated for this date, dates appear in yellow
    • Not yet generated - no status has been assigned to this date  Note: If the calendar has not been generated, the date will appear in blue. If a date that has not been generated is selected, the selection menu will show a message that the date has not been generated, the status cannot be changed.
  9. (Optional) Repeat steps 6-8 to make all desired changes.
  10. Click OK to save.

Create a calendar report 

A BIRT report can be generated to display your library calendars. To create a calendar report:

  1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to OCLC Wise > Calendar > Calendar management.
  2. Click Open next to the library system. A list of branches displays.
  3. Click Open next to the branch for which you want to generate a report.
  4. Click Report at the top of the screen. A Calendar report screen opens.
  5. Select the year for which you wish to generate a report from the Year drop-down list.
  6. Click OK to confirm. The report opens on a new tab in your browser window.

The report shows the calendars of all branches in the system. The following information is included in the columns:

  • Period - displays the year and month represented in the line in YYYYMM format
  • Days - displays the number of days in the month
  • 01 - 31 - indicates the date of the month for that line

In the boxes, the first letter of the date status displays.

  • O - Open
  • V - Vacation
  • G - Closed
  • B - Fine free days
