Strategy for generating reports
Before creating a query in the Selections screen, some planning is necessary. When creating a search strategy, you must first determine the desired result. The result will always be created from a dataset (result set), and the result set will always be a set type (customers, items, etc.).
When exporting a result set, sections can be included from other related source files. For example, a result set of Financial items could also include customer information.
The challenge of creating useful reports is selecting the correct source file and selection type in order to generate the correct lines in the result set. Wise will use the selected source file when running your query and the source file is determined based on set type.
Selection lines can be entered and belong to the configured source files. However, selection lines can also be configured in files that have a relationship to each other via the selected source file.
