Selections screen Set types and Earmarks

Set type

The set type indicates which set of data will be searched. The following selections are available:

  • Customers
  • Items
  • Titles
  • Orders
  • Order lines
  • Periodicals
  • Holds
  • Financial items
  • Logfile
  • Messages
  • Transactions
  • Performances
  • Activities

Earmark

An Earmark selection allows the user to indicate the intended use of the selection. Earmarks are configured in the Wise configuration manager in (TABSDS) Selection earmarks.

The system has several default earmarks, such as MKT - Marketing, NBO - Newsletter recipients and, NBP - Newsletter profiles.

Earmarks can be used with saved queries or results. The earmark works as a filter. When selected, Wise will only display the sets with selection criteria and the result sets in which the entered earmark is included. An earmark can be added when selected for a new selection, to saved selections, or sets at a later time.

Note: It is possible for newsletter items to only display the selections within the NBP earmark, and for the sending list to display only the selections with the NBO earmark. This is clearer, since the number of selections increases.

Main screen

Below the Set type and Earmark selection, the main screen contains four panes. The top portion of the window pertains to the selection criteria and the bottom portion contains search results that meet the criteria.
