Service points and delivery processes

Learn to configure and use service points and delivery processes for hold requests.

With this functionality enabled, a customer can choose to have a hold request delivered in an alternative manner rather than the standard delivery method of picking up and returning the item to their home branch. These delivery processes are offered by the branch in addition to the standard delivery process offered at the time of checkout. 

The delivery processes set for each branch only apply to their specific customers. The delivery process is set for each branch within the Wise configuration manager at Delivery processes. It is up to the branch to decide if a customer can use the delivery processes available. A standard delivery process can be defined in Customer Administration for each customer. Each item checked out, using a delivery process will need to be handled individually. This includes all forms as well.

The following types of delivery processes are available in the Wise configuration manager: 

Delivery process Delivery process code Definition
Service point S Items must be collected at the particular branch listed
Item P Items will be mailed to the customer (home delivery)
Transportation provision T Items will be delivered by a mode of transportation service 
Volunteer V Items will be delivered by a volunteer of the branch
