Place delivery process hold requests

Find information about placing holds using a delivery process.

Selecting a delivery process in the Wise client

The Delivery process field displays within the Notification preferences tab for customers associated with a membership that allows delivery processes to be chosen. If this field is empty, the main branch is the default service point. A different delivery process can be also selected during the hold request process by choosing a service point as a pickup location.

To update the delivery process:

  1. Navigate to a customer account within the Wise client.
  2. Select the Notification preferences tab.
  3. Click Change.
  4. Select a location from the Delivery process drop-down menu.
  5. Click Save

Online Catalog holds

When a customer places a hold request, their home branch is the default pickup location and the standard delivery process is used. However, if the account is associated with a membership that allows alternate delivery processes, they will have the option of selecting a different delivery process within their account. To select a different delivery process within My account:

  1. Log in to the Web catalog
  2. Navigate to My Account > My holds.
  3. Click Edit next to the request you wish to change. The Edit hold window opens.
  4. Select the service point from the drop-down list. 
  5. Click Edit to save changes. A confirmation message appears.
  6. Click Close to close the request window.
