Generate item or customer labels

Learn how to generate and configure item and customer labels in the Wise staff client.

The Generate item or customer labels function allows you to enter item or customer barcodes to print one or more labels. These might be used for collection labels, barcodes, address stickers, or other purposes.

This option should not be used to print newly generated spine labels. It is intended for manually designed placement labels.

You cannot specify the label type until the print process is initiated.

  1. Go to Items > Labels > Generate item or customer labels. The Generate item labels window opens.
  2. Make a selection:
    • Start new batch. The default setting, this option allows you to include the labels file. The system generates a file name in the form of YYYYMMDD_HHMMSSSelect this option if you know in advance that a specific label must be printed for a specific amount of items.
    • Add to batch. This option allows you to add items to an existing batch. Select the batch name from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter the Number of labels to print.
  4. Select a label Type, Item, or Customer.
  5. Scan or enter the item or customer barcode. The label is added to the print batch.
  6. Click OK to save and close the batch.
  7. The labels can be printed via Print item or customer labels.
