RCB Analysis
Learn how to create an RCB analysis report.
The RCB analysis provides additional insight into your collection.
- Go to Items > BCB/RCB reports > RCB Analysis. The RCB Analysis report progress screen appears.
- Provide the details for the report.
Field Description Analysis Choose one of the analysis options from the drop-down menu. Sorting Select a sorting order for the report display.
- C - Collection cluster
- V - Branch
When Branch is selected, the Branches drop-down menu becomes available below.
Branch cluster If left blank, all branches of the cluster are selected for analysis. Select a branch cluster to limit the analysis to that cluster. Collection cluster If left blank, all parts of the collection are selected for analysis. Select a cluster to limit the analysis to that cluster. Branch(es) Branches are displayed if Branch is selected for Sorting. Use ctrl+click to select multiple branches. - Click Create report. The report is generated and opens in your web browser.
Scenarios
The following are examples of scenarios for which this report could be used.
Example 1: You want to view the analysis figures of one specific branch.
- Go to Items > BCB/RCB reports > RCB Analysis. The RCB Analysis report progress screen appears.
- In the Sorting field, select V - Branch
- Select the branch from the Branch(es) drop-down list.
- Click Create report. The report is generated and opens in your web browser.
Example 2: You want the analysis figures for the Adventure part of the collection for a group of branches.
- Go to Items > BCB/RCB reports > RCB Analysis. The RCB Analysis report progress screen appears.
- In the Sorting field, select C - Collection cluster.
- Select Adventure from the Collection cluster drop-down list.
- Click Create report. The report is generated and opens in your web browser.
Example 3: You want to know what the analysis will show for the French collection in two large libraries.
- Go to Items > BCB/RCB reports > RCB Analysis. The RCB Analysis report progress screen appears.
- In the Sorting field, select V - Branch.
- Select French from the Collection cluster drop-down list.
- Use Ctrl+click to select both branches from the Branch(es) drop-down list.
- Click Create report. The report is generated and opens in your web browser.
View the RCB analysis
The RCB analysis displays the following information:

| Pref. withdrawals | Actual holdings : desired withdrawal % |
| Pref. Acquisition | Desired holdings : desired purchasing % |
| Balance | Extra effort to achieve desired holdings (purchase - write off = balance) |
| Holdings old | Older than eight years |
| Holdings zero | Not checked out for past two years |
| Holdings active% | Percentage of the number of items that were checked out last year |
| Holdings checked out% | Percentage of the number of items checked out at the time of the analysis |
| Acquired 12 months | Number of items purchased in the past 12 months |
