Wise Community profile

Find information on Wise Community profiles and how to create a profile.

Creating a Community profile

The following are requirements for creating a Community profile:

  • The customer's email address is entered.
  • The customer is an individual, not an institution such as a school.
  • The library membership allows it
  • The customer has no financial obligations.

Once a customer is logged in, customers can create a Community profile from My account by clicking on the Create Community Profile menu item.

Creating a profile is very simple. The customer chooses a nickname. The chosen nickname is checked for availability in the national Wise4all database, and must be unique. Additionally, the customer must agree to the terms and conditions. These terms are in legal language, and are necessary because data will be shared with other libraries.

After creating the profile, the user can access and manage the profile from My account.

Community profile page

The Wise Community profile page can be accessed through My account by clicking on the Wise Community profile link above My account details.

The profile page provides access to the following:

  • Reviews tab: modify or delete previous reviews you have created.
  • Lists tab: view lists you have created, change list properties or delete lists.
  • Tags tab: view or remove own tags. The larger the font, the more often the tag has been used. With Show my tag usage you can see how often the tag has been used.
  • Details tab: view account details.
  • Settings tab: View or change settings. The Community profile can also be deleted here.  For more information, see Delete profile.

Reviews

Displays all reviews written by the customer. It is not possible to edit or delete reviews on the page itself. This can only be done through the title detail page of the title the review was written for.

Lists

Displays all title lists created by the customer. Information shown for each list includes the number of titles on the list, the nickname of the account that created the list, and the date that the list was last updated.

Clicking on the list name opens an overview of the titles on the list. If you click on the i-tick next to the list name, you will see the description the user has given to it. The user can edit or delete the list from this tab. It is also possible to search the created lists.

Tags

Displays all tags the user has ever created or assigned. The Show Tag Usage button shows how many titles the tag has been assigned to. Clicking on the tag itself opens a list of those titles.

Click the X next to a tag to remove it. Note that this will remove the tag from all titles that the user has given that tag to.
