Cancel membership

Find information on how to cancel a membership from My account.

Customers can deactivate their account by selecting Cancel membership in My account. To cancel a membership:

  1. Use the Reason for deactivation drop-down menu to select a reason for the cancellation (ex. moved out of service area).
  2. Click the I want to cancel my subscription button. 

 Note: When customers deactivate a card online, the change will not take effect until the card expires.

Example: A customer with a membership expiration date of 9/26/2026 cancels their membership via My account on 9/26/2025. The account will remain active until 9/20/2026 unless they contact library staff to request the membership be deactivated.

To immediately deactivate an account, staff will need to deactivate the card from the Fee tab in Customer Administration. For more information, see Deactivate a library card.
