New OPAC homepage configuration
As of version 8.0.1, the following features of the new OPAC homepage can be configured
- Carousels
- Community recent activities
- Community tags
- Youth links
Configuration
To configure the home page for the new OPAC, go to systemWise > Wisecat+ configuration > Wisecat+ homepage and click New. Then fill in the following fields as desired:

| Organization | Choose the instance for which you want to configure the home page. This can also be done at the system level. |
| Carousel profile | Choose a carousel profile. For more information, see Carousels below. |

Choose whether and how you want the carousel(s) to be visible. Choose one of the following options:

| Show Wise Community's recent activity | Select Yes to show recent Community user activity on the home page. For more information, see Wise Community below. |
| Show youth links | Select Yes to show youth links. For more information, see Youth links below. |
Carousels
Carousels are lists of covers that can be displayed on the new OPAC homepage, such as recent acquisitions or themed lists. Previously, the carousel on the home page showed a random selection of acquisitions from the acquisition profiles Fiction total and Youth fiction. As of version 8.0.1, you can specify what should be shown in the carousel(s). To do this, create a carousel profile in the Manager under Wise > Carousel > Carousel profiles. See Carousel for more information on configuring carousels.
Once a carousel profile has been created, it can be selected using the Carousel profile field on the OPAC homepage configuration screen (systemWise > Wisecat+ configuration > Wisecat+ homepage). Once a profile is selected the OPAC homepage will show the shelves configured in the profile.
Note: Up to three carousels can be displayed on the new OPAC homepage so each carousel profile will be able to contain a maximum of three shelves.
Carousel visibility
In the Carousel visibility field, you can choose from Tabs, Sequential, and Hidden.

Multiple carousels are shown at once on the homepage instead of one per tab. |

Wise Community
There are two Wise Community features that can be displayed on the homepage of the new OPAC:
- Wise Community recent activity
- Wise Community recently used tags
Recent activity
The recent activities of Community users can be displayed on the home page of the new OPAC. Activity that can be displayed includes:
- Writing a review
- Finding a review useful
- Adding a tag
- Adding a title to a list
Recently used tags
This feature allows you to show tags that have been used recently by Community users. These are both completely new tags and tags that have been used more than once. You can see how often tags have been used by clicking on Show tag use on the right side of the page above the list of tags. Tags in the list are displayed in different sizes, and the more often the tags are used, the larger they are displayed in the list.
Youth Links
The Show Youth Links option allows an additional section to be displayed on the homepage that provides links to My account and the KidsWise Youth catalog.
Note: KidsWise features are yet not available as of the 8.0.1 release.
