My holds
The My holds screen allows users to view lists of their holds. If users have a mix of physical and digital holds, they can click the Physical materials or Digital content tabs to view holds of each type. For more information on an item that has been placed on hold, click the title to view the Title detail page for that item.
Note: The ability to place and cancel holds depends on the My Menu configuration set in the Manager.

Hold types
The My holds screen allows users to view separate lists of their standard, first available, and sequential holds. Browse a holds list by clicking the arrows to the left and right of the list, or click on the list title to view the full list.
- Standard: Items with this hold type are delivered in the order that they become available.
- First available: A hold placed on a group of items. After one item is fulfilled, the rest are automatically canceled.
- Sequential: A hold placed on a group of items. Holds on these items will be fulfilled in a specific order. Holds on subsequent items are not placed until the previous items are checked out.
For more information on placing different types of holds in the OPAC, see My Wish list.
In addition to the hold type, the My holds page overview provides basic information on holds such as cover art, title, and author. Click Manage next to a hold type to view more detailed information about a hold.
Manage holds
The Manage holds screen for each hold type provides more detailed information about any holds of that type that have been placed and allows users to manage their holds. Users can delete, move, pause, and resume holds from the Manage holds screen for each hold type. Each Manage holds screen also contains an explanation of the various hold types available.

To bulk select holds, click the Select drop-down menu and choose one of the following:
- Deselect all

Delete a hold
My Account can be configured to allow holds to be deleted or canceled by customers. If deletion is not allowed, no "Delete" button is shown for the item in My holds. If the system option LANRSVP is enabled, customers can delete pending holds via My Account > My holds.
If cancelation is allowed, a customer can delete a hold while the hold still has the In Process status (the hold has been placed, but not yet honored with a copy status A).
To delete a hold:
- Go to My Account > My holds.
- Click Delete to the right of the title in the holds list.
- To delete more than one hold at a time, check the box to the left of each hold that will be deleted, or choose Select all from the drop-down menu at the top of the page, and then click Delete at the top of the page.
- It is also possible to Deselect all holds using this menu, or to select only All Paused or Not Paused holds.
- A confirmation window will appear. Click Delete again to cancel the hold(s).
Move holds between Hold type lists
It is also possible to move holds between type lists. To move holds between lists:
- In the OPAC, go to My account > My holds.
- Click Manage next to the list containing the hold that will be moved. The page for the list will open.
Note: It is also possible to click on the title of a hold from the list preview on this page to open the list page.
- Check the box to the left of the hold that will be moved. More than one hold can be selected and moved at a time.
- Once all items have been selected, click Move at the top of the page.
- A drop-down menu will open with the names of the lists that the hold(s) can be moved to.
- Click on the name of a list to move the holds to that list.
- The page will refresh, and the selected holds will no longer appear in the original list.
Pause a hold
To pause a hold:
- Go to My Account > My holds.
- Check the box to the left of each hold that will be paused.
- Click the Pause button above the holds list.
- The Pause holds window opens. Click the calendar icon in the Pause hold from and Resume hold from fields to enter the start and end dates for the pause.
- Click Save.
Resume a hold
To resume a paused hold:
- Go to My Account > My holds.
- Check the box to the left of each hold that will be resumed.
- Click the Resume button above the holds list.
- The Resume holds window opens. A count of all selected holds and their titles appears in the window. Click Resume to resume all selected holds.
Edit a hold
As long as the hold still has the status In process, the pickup location and pause dates can be changed. A hold can still be canceled and edited at any time through Wise Client or Console by staff. For more information on pausing holds, see Pause or resume a hold.
Place a hold
For more information on placing holds in the OPAC, see Place holds.
View and change the preferred pickup location for holds
If system option PPLOCAT: Enable patron preferred pickup location is enabled, customers can select and manage their preferred pickup location. If this system option is not enabled, the customer's home branch continues to function as the default pickup location.
Preferred pickup locations for holds can be updated when placing a hold (see Place holds for more information) or via My account details. To update a location via My account details:
- Go to My account.
- Click My account details.
- Click Edit next to Preferred pickup location at the bottom of the page.
- A modal will appear. Select the desired Library system and Branch from the drop-down menus. If the library has one LO, the library system drop-down will not appear.
- Click Save.
Note: Because some pickup branches may not be enabled for preferred pickup, the list in My Account may be different than the list of pickup locations when placing a hold.
