Links to unsubscribe

Learn how to provide unsubscribe links for your customers in your library newsletters.

The default style sheet for newsletters sent in Wise includes a link in the footer to unsubscribe from the newsletter.

It is also recommended that your library create and include a subscription management text item in your newsletters. The text item can be configured to contain two links and the text around the links can be customized.

Edit subscription link in footer

The style sheet can be modified with custom text. To make changes to the footer, update the following code in the newsletter stylesheet:

<xsl: variable name = "footer-edit-link-text"> Click here </ xsl: variable>
<xsl: variable name = "footer-edit-text"> to change your subscription to this newsletter. </ xsl: variable>

The portal will only switch to var = mob (on mobile devices) for specifically selected events, so that it no longer jumps to the mobile portal for pages that are not available in the mobile portal.

Add subscription link to newsletter text

The link to cancel or manage a newsletter subscription can be added in two ways:

  • Manually, by typing the code in the text item:

[RECALL LINK] Click here to change your details [/RECALL LINK]

The text that is entered between the codes becomes the linked text that th customer sees in the message.

  • Choose from the list of links
The cancel or manage link is included in the list of available links to insert into a text item. Unlike other links in the list, this link cannot be changed. To make the link stand out and easy to find when sorting, click on the gray header to change the sorting order of the list.

Both links direct the customer to the My account section of the web catalog.
