Use profiles with newsletters

Learn how to use customer profiles to send targeted messages to customers in the Wise staff client.

Newsletter texts can be tailored and sent only to specific audiences. To send newsletters to a specific audience, you must first create a profile, using Statistics and selections, and then assign the profile(s) to the newsletter text item(s) appropriate to that audience.

When the newsletter is compiled and sent, the message can be sent to a wide audience, but audiences will see the text items relevant to them, based on the profiles they fit.

Create newsletter profiles 

  1. In the staff client, go to Statistics and selections > Selections.
  2. Select Customers from the Set type drop-down list in the upper left corner of the screen.
  3. Enter criteria in the Selection lines box to create a customer group with your desired characteristics. This could include residence, age, number of loans, or customer labels, for example, or, select BIEB-GEBR to create a profile based on customer subscriptions and borrowing information.
  4. Click Run > Run now > Create new set. 
  5. Click Set > Save set to save the set and give it a unique profile name. The set is created and assigned a set ID number.

Assign profiles to text items 

  1. In the staff client, go to Branch management > Newsletters > Newsletter texts.
  2. Create a new text item, or double click on an existing text item line to edit.
  3. Click on the Profiles tab. Available profiles appear in the table at the top of the screen.
  4. Select a profile and click Add profile to add it to the text item. You can add multiple profiles to a text item.
  5. If multiple profiles are added, select a Use profiles preference:
    • Customer should appear in all selected profiles (AND)
    • Customer should appear in at least one selected profile (OR)
  6. Click Save.
