Holds

Learn how to view information about hold requests from within the Activity tab of the Wise Console.

Information about hold requests can be viewed and edited from the Holds section of the Activity tab within a customer acocunt. 

The following information about holds is available:

Field Description
Title The title associated with the hold request.
Source

The source of the hold request. The following sources are possible: 

  • Network
  • Branch
  • Internal ILL
  • Other

Status The status of the hold request. 
Pickup / Delivery The pickup or delivery location for the hold request. To change the pickup or delivery location, select a different branch from the drop-down menu. 
Request ID The hold request in the Client. Hold requests are assigned a number in the format of YYYY-MM-DD.######. The number following the date is the number of the request, in order of when the request was place on the date.

Click the downward-facing arrow (console_arrow.png) to the left of each hold description to view the following additional information:

Field Description
Fulfill after The hold condition in the Client. A hold condition is used to indicate when the hold will be processed in relation to other items on hold/checked out.
Priority The priority of the request can be changed by selecting a different priority (0 to 9). The lower the number, the higher the priority. If there are hold requests with the same priority, the request with the oldest date is processed first.
Group If the hold request is part of a group request, the group number will display here.
Position The customer's position in the hold request queue. 
Material type Material type of the item on hold.
Placed at The location where the hold request was placed.
Barcode If the hold request is an item level request instead of a title level request, the selected item’s barcode is shown here.

Delete a hold

To delete a hold:

  1. Click the box next to the name of the hold to select it from the list, or click Select all to select all holds from the list.
  2. Click Delete. A Delete Hold(s) pop-up appears.
  3. Click Delete. The selected hold is deleted. 

Add a hold

Functionality in this section has not yet been implemented.
