Desk pattern and Desk texts

Override messages and behavior in the Client can be defined in the Wise configuration manager at Desk patterns and Desk texts.

Desk patterns and desk texts control override messages within the Wise client. These settings are defined in the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Desk management > Desk pattern and Desk texts

Desk pattern

Override messages for certain actions within Wise can be configured within the Wise configuration manager at Desk management > Desk pattern. Desk patterns are linked to specific authorizations, limiting the override functionality per role. See Users for more information.

 Note: It is recommended to test changes to desk patterns prior to implementing them. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

Notification number The message text number associated with the desk pattern
Continue without prompt or notification If checked, the notification text will not appear when triggered.
Show notification but continue without prompt If checked, the notification text will not appear when triggered.
Continue after confirmation, then notify again If checked, the notification text confirmation will appear. If the user accesses the same area again, the notification text appears again.
Continue after confirmation, then DO NOT notify again If checked, the notification text confirmation will appear. If the user accesses the same area again, the notification text will not appear again.
Show notification but do not continue If checked, the notification text confirmation will appear. Users cannot proceed with the action. 
Do not show notification and do not continue If checked, the notification text confirmation will not appear and users cannot proceed with the action.

Desk texts

Desk texts contains all of the desk messages used within Wise. Default desk texts can be changed at the system level in this area. 

 Note: It is recommended to test changes to desk texts prior to implementing them. Contact your system administrator for assistance.
