Rotating/changing collections configuration

Find information about configuration settings for rotating/changing collections.

Settings related to rotating/changing collections are defined in the Wise configuration manager at OCLC Wise > Collections > Rotating/changing collections

Items can be grouped in a temporary collection. Each temporary collection has a unique collection number. The table is configured in the manager while the compilation, management, and delivery of temporary collections takes place in the client. There are several reasons to include items in a collection, such as special projects or tracking.

A special kind of collection is the rotating collection. Items that are included in a rotating collection will be rotated by Wise according to the route schedule configured for each branch. This allows for an automatic rotation of copies. Rotating collections are set up through the client and managed from a branch office. See Create and manage changing collections for more information.

(TABWON) Collection subjects

Each temporary collection has a unique code that consists of a collection subject and a unique serial number. The serial number is automatically generated by Wise when a collection is created. The subject is entered in this table. Provide a unique 3-character code and a description (limit 40 characters). If the loan period is different from your standard lending time, a length (in days) can also be entered.

Field Description
Type System defined - WON
Code A unique 3 character code associated with the collection subject.
Description A description of the collection subject.
Loan period in days The number of days that items from this collection can be checked out, if applicable.

(TABWOS) Collection types

A collection type can be applied to a collection. The collection type provides additional information about the collection (such as audience or intended use for the collection). This data can be used for statistical reports.
