Learn how to use generate reports about circulation, financials and holds in the Statistics and selections section of the Wise staff client.

A number of reports are included under Ratio to generate information related to circulation functions, financial transactions, and hold requests.

Circulation

The Circulation report provides information about the number of circulation actions, per institution, over a specified period of time.

Check-outs, check-ins, and renewals are regarded as circulation actions. Cancelations of check-outs, check-ins, and renewals are directly incorporated into the counts in the report. These actions cancel one another out and are not visible on the report.

The actions for the given period are counted according to the source for each branch.

The following actions are included in the report:

To generate the report:

  1. Go to Statistics and Selections > Statistical data > Ratios > Circulation. The Circulation division codes (61) window opens.
  2. Select preferences for the report. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
    Field Description
    Institution* Select an institution from the drop-down list.
    Period (up to and including) Enter the period of time for which to generate the report.
  3. Click Create report. The report is generated in your web browser.

The Circulation report displays the branch, a description of the action, and the count and percentage of each action.

Financial transactions

The Financial transactions report provides an overview of the financial actions per period, per journal entry code type, per source, per journal/journal type, and amounts. The report can be used to gain insight into quantities and percentages. No relationship can be determined according to financial overviews.

To generate the report:

  1. Go to Statistics and Selections > Statistical data > Ratios > Financial transactions. The Division codes Financial transactions (76) window opens.
  2. Select preferences for the report. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
    Field Description
    Institution* Select an institution from the drop-down list, or,
    Period (up to and including) Enter the period of time for which to generate the report.
    Group

    Make a selection for how the report will display:

    • 0 - journal type
    • 1 - journal
  3. Click Create report. The report is generated in your web browser.

When you select a journal type, the report will include counts for the first position of the journal:

  • A - Waive
  • B - Bank
  • K - Cash drawer
  • R - Credits

The Financial transactions report displays the journal number, description of the action, source, quantity, percentages and amounts.

Hold requests (by location)

The Hold requests (by location) report provides insight into the number of hold requests placed per branch, type of hold request, and source. Only the institution is used as a criterion. It does not provide information about delivery/handling. The branch is the pick-up branch, as selected by the customer.

To generate the report:

  1. Go to Statistics and Selections > Statistical data > Ratios > Hold requests (location). The Division codes and hold requests (places) (36) window opens.
  2. Select preferences for the report. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
    Field Description
    Institution* Select an institution from the drop-down list, or,
    Period (up to and including) Enter the period of time for which to generate the report.
  3. Click Create report. The report is generated in your web browser.

The type of hold request displayed is the type at the time of the placement. The following types are included:

  • Branch
  • Network
  • Internal ILL
  • External request

The following sources are included in the report:

  • Service desk
  • Internet
  • Pubcat
  • Search and reserve
  • Bulk

At the bottom of the report, the data per branch is summed up by institution.
