Cash drop and Cash drop (other cash drawers)
The Cash drop function is intended for cash drops from the cash drawer before the drawer is closed for the day.
A cash drop is always entered as cash drawer code 5990. A cash drop does not have to be counted toward the total cash drawer count after it is completed. Amounts that are part of the cash deposit are counted in reports.
To perform a cash drop:
- Go to Financials > Point-of-sale > Cash handling > Cash drop or Cash drop (other cash drawers).
- Select the cash drawer from which an amount is to be included in a cash drop.
- Enter an amount to be included.
- Click OK. If configured, you will be prompted to enter your initials.
- Click OK. The report can be printed and submitted.
Difference between cash drop and surplus cash removal
Cash drop: The amount deposited in the bank is taken from the cash drawer. Wise no longer counts this amount toward the cash drawer total. In general, the cash drop amounts are brought to the bank once a week.
Removal of surplus cash: An amount is removed from the cash drawer for safety. This amount is kept at the branch. As soon as the cash drawer is closed out, the surplus cash removed must be counted toward the total cash drawer amount. Only then can it be included in the cash drop.
