Check out items
To check out materials to a customer:
- Open the Check out screen.
- Enter or scan the customer barcode into the Customer number field.
Note: If the customer does not have their library card number, you can search for their account by name:
- Type the customer's last name into the Customer number field and press enter. The Search customer via customer details screen opens.
- Provide additional details in any of the customer fields, or select the correct customer account from the list in the right pane. Double click or press enter to open the customer's account.
- Scan the barcodes of the item(s) the customer is checking out.
- To end the check out process, navigate to Close > Close checkout to close the session and print a receipt.
Switch customers
Multiple customer accounts can be active during check out and check in.
Add a new customer to the session
- Navigate to Session > Search customer (direct, add). A search box opens.
- Select a search option and click OK.
- Provide search criteria for the customer and press enter or click Search.
- Select the customer account from the list in the right pane. Double click or press enter to open the customer's account.
Switch customer accounts
When you have more than one customer account open during check out, you can toggle between the accounts by going to Session > Switch customers. A list of the customer accounts you have open in the current session displays. Select the customer account you want to open.
Return to previous customer
To return to the last customer account you closed, navigate to Session > Previous customer.
View checked out items
To see what materials a customer has checked out from the Check out or Check in screen, navigate to Customer > Borrowed items.
A summary of checked out items displays with the following data:

Changing collection | When the item is returned, the collection code for items from changing collections is shown. |
Manage checked out items
From the checked out items view, you can perform a number of actions by right clicking on the line you want to change. You can perform some actions (indicated by an *) on multiple lines at once by holding control and clicking the line you want to change.

Cancel |
This allows you to undo a loan or return if it was made in the current session. This will remove the item from the customer's borrowed materials and loan history. Overdue fees will be refunded. This function can also be applied to renewals. When a renewal is canceled, the due date will return to the original date. You can also cancel a checkout by highlighting the lines you want to cancel and pressing F4. |
Check in* | Return materials. |
Administratively check in* | Return items without processing a fine. |
Renew loan period* | Extend the lending period of the material. |
Create replacement cost bill | Creates an invoice for reimbursement of the item. |
Register current fine* | Update the fines for items that have not been returned. This function is usually used in combination with return through a dropbox |
Change date |
Allows you to change the check out date. Note: This does not renew/extend the borrowing period. |
To details of this line | Shows details on the status and lending/return dates of the item. |
To details of this item | Shows comprehensive information on items (status, material type, statistical category, order date, owner, possible blocks, number of loans, etc.) |
To title for item | Opens the catalog record for the item. |
Read details guest item | If the item is borrowed as an ILL loan, additional item details display. |
