Set a staff PIN

Learn how to set a staff PIN in the Wise client.

If configured, certain actions can only be performed by staff when a PIN code is entered. The PIN is linked to an employee number and an actor_id. This PIN must be used for actions that are tracked in the system, such as waiving a customer's fees. To enable this functionality, the KWYTPIN system option must be enabled. Contact your system administrator for more information.

Set PIN

To set a PIN, the KWYTPIN system option must first be enabled. Once the option is enabled:

  1. .Go to Branch management > Staff pin. A PIN set window opens.
  2. Enter the staff member's actor_id and click Search. A PIN entry window opens.
  3. Enter the old PIN and new PIN.
  4. Click Save. If the PIN is incorrect, an alert will display. If the code is accepted, a message will display that the PIN was saved.
  5. Click Quit to close the window.  Note: To see if a PIN is already set, open the customer account in Customer administration and select Customer > Set new PIN. The window displays the current PIN status.
  6. Set conditions for which actions require a PIN to perform in the Wise configuration manager.
