Notification preferences

Find information on configuring notification preferences in My Account.

This page allows a customer to set preferences for service messages, newsletters and the acquisitions email.

Service Messages

Service Messages provides an overview of the message types used by the library, such as New arrivals alert, return alert hold cancellation, etc., along with the method of receipt.

Whether changes are allowed depends on the My Account configuration used. Which preferences are possible also depends on the library's Notification preference configuration.

The following messages types can be configured:

  • New arrivals alert
  • Overdue #1
  • Overdue #2
  • Return alert
  • Message hold on transport
  • ILL-V request confirmation message
  • Renewal confirmation
  • Cancellation notice ILL-V
  • Collection notice ILL-V
  • Hold cancellation
  • Hold reminder pickup notice
  • Hold (pick up) notification

The method of receipt for these message types can be set to one of the following:

  • Inbox and email
  • Inbox
  • No messages
  • Email

Newsletters

Newsletter preferences can be managed here.

This tab shows the available newsletters for a library. The sliders can be used to unsubscribe and subscribe to one specific newsletter. The Temporarily block all newsletters slider allows users to (temporarily) unsubscribe from all newsletters of this instance.

 Note: This tab will not be visible unless the customer has previously subscribed to the newsletter. If the library has no active newsletters (under systemWise > Marketing > Newsletter > Newsletter definition) this tab will not be visible.

Newsletters from other institutions

Even if a customer is viewing the OPAC of a branch other than their own library, and that branch not belong to the same instance, they are still able to subscribe to newsletters from that branch. The subscription form applies to the newsletter of the instance they are currently viewing.

Areas of interest email

Customers can manage their areas of interest emails here. This email is a periodic message with new titles, organized by topic (area). Customers can subscribe and unsubscribe to different "areas" here and view ones that they have already signed up for.
