The following is a list of recent updates and bug fixes. For more information, contact OCLC Support

 Note:  Weekly updates will be present in Wise Test instances on the Wednesday of the week indicated below, and in Production the following Monday.

Manager > Products and Services > Message Preference Method If ABONCNF is active, the customer choice included DataB or File, and the customer had P - By Mail as the message preference for the CNF message, the P was not converted correctly to form D or B. Now, if ABONCNF is active, the customer preference is P - By Mail, and the subscription message preference method contains D or B at customer choice, then the CNF message will take form D or B. 12/26/2023
Client > Items Serial change Submission date from the Copies menu does not work - the new submission date is not saved and remains empty. A field of type Date was previously used in the copy's submission date. This has been converted to LocalDateTime. This was not considered in the client. This has now been resolved. 12/26/2023
Client > Selections When trying to batch update the due date from a selection set, the system did not respond (or change the due dates) after selecting the Change button. A mismatch in date formats prevented the batch update from completing. This has now been resolved. 12/11/2023
Client - Receipt printer When printing a temporary password, the password was not printed large enough. The receipt has been adjusted, and the password is now shown larger on the receipt. 12/4/2023
Client - Items The loan date was not displayed accurately on the copy detail screen. The loan date display has been adjusted. It is now displayed accurately. 12/4/2023
Client > Catalog > Linking screen In the linking screen, the "Siso 2nd part" field was not predicted correctly if the description in the TABSLT was too long. After an adjustment in the code, the "Siso 2nd part" field is predicted correctly again. 12/4/2023
Client - Receipt printer When printing a temporary password, this password was not printed large. An adjustment to the receipt ensures that the larger size now works properly. The password is shown larger on the receipt. 12/4/2023
Link instances When making the label method visible in the link screens, it turned out that the owner no longer changes when the location is changed. This has been corrected so that the owner changes again with the location. 11/27/2023
Client > Magazine administration In the case of a magazine subscription with a temporary shelf and Copies = T (Temporary access), the temporary shelf of the previous copy is not automatically removed when a new copy is received. When a new copy of a magazine subscription (with Temporary shelf and Temporary access) is received, the temporary shelf is automatically removed from the previous copy. 11/27/2023
Client > Instances > Overviews The 'Relocation count' overview showed the diacritical marks incorrectly in the BIRT report. The diacritical marks are again shown correctly in the BIRT report. 11/20/2023
Client - Customer administration When an existing customer was re-registered, the 'telephone' and 'SMS number' fields in the 2nd screen can be cleared. However, this change was not saved once the re-registration was completed. Now the 'telephone' and 'SMS number' fields are saved as cleared after the re-registration has been completed, if they were cleared during the re-registration. 11/20/2023

Client - Clearing unclaimed holds When clearing unclaimed holds, the message 'Cancel reservation or leave it as is' had an inaccurate date. In the message, the date of message stated the date of the reservation and NOT the date of the last message. When an unclaimed hold is removed from the shelf, the correct date of the last message now appears in the notification under Message Date. 10/23/23
Manager - Membership process - Manage preference method If 'customer choice' in the message preference method was empty or the default form was missing, the wrong or no form was chosen. The fallback is also unpredictable. The correct form is chosen and the fallback work correctly again. 10/23/23
Client - Titles - Order administration - Options - Order overview If the order overview was searched using Title Code, an error message was displayed and no Birt report was being created. The underlying query has been corrected; a report is created as expected. 10/23/23
Client - Statistics and selections When creating a second search rule, the operator from the previous search rule is included by default. Even if this operator is not available for the new search field. If the operator is not available for the new search field, the previously available operator is given by default. 10/16/23
Client - Items - Changing collections Printing an overview of a very large rotating collection failed with a timeout. Overviews of very large collections can be printed again. The timeout period in the client has been adjusted. 10/16/23
Client - Catalog (Marc 21 data) If text was entered for a title in section RA001 (summary  Marc21-tag 520) with <Enter> in the text, the Wise data was not saved. Title data in section RA001 (summary Marc21-tag 520) is now saved and visible in the catalog. 10/9/23

Manager/Server - Salutation method N

Marketing Workbench

When salutation method N or VA was used, the name in the salutation appeared in a marketing message three times. Using salutation method N or VA, the name in the salutation is displayed once. 10/2/23
Client - Customer support > Messages When editing a message, the action buttons were not accessible and visible in all front sizes. The action buttons are now accessible and visible in all font sizes. 10/2/23
My Account - Renew If a patron renewed multiple items at the same time through the OPAC, multiple PVL messages were sent. One PVL message is now sent again containing all renewed items. 9/25/23
Client - Statistics and selections - Selections When generating a selection of items, the description from the hold settings per RMT was included in the description of the material type. The description of the material type at the item level is noe determined from RMTSYS (RMT table definition). 9/18/23
Client - Customer administration When a block was placed by an employee who is no longer in Wise, an error message appeared when selecting tab 6 Properties -1; and the blocking data could not be retrieved. The blocking data is retrieved, even if the employee is no longer in Wise. 9/18/23
Server - Messages The system option IV1RNEW ensures that the message "Copy cannot be extended" is shoen in the Return Notification (IV1) for reserved copies. This does not work for messages formatted in the Message Editor. An adjustment has been made to the stylesheet, so that the message is also shown in IV1 messages that have been created in the Message Editor. 9/4/23
Client - Items - BCB/RCB reports - Items action list After adding the action "O Surplus," the action, "AGHIJKORVW Everything," is no longer the default when opening the Items action list screen. The action, "AGHIJKORVW Everything," is now offered as a default option as expected when opening the Items action list screen. 8/28/23
OPAC - My menu - My account details After changing the loan history via My account, the gender field in the actor table is cleared. The gender of the actor is no longer changed after adjusting the borrowing history. 8/28/23
Client - Catalog When searching for words in the catalog, titles with no copies available are being listed as "internal lending." The order in which the statuses of titles are handled has been adjusted in the software. The correct status is now being shown as expected in the catalog. 8/21/23
Items - Temporary items - ILL items When creating a temporary ILL item and manually entering a shorter (than 13 characters) barcode number, the system overwrites the entered barcode with standard Wise 13-digit barcode. Users can input a barcode between 8 and 13 characters as the ILL item's barcode and that value will be maintained. 8/7/23
Client - Statistics and selections - Selections Searching for first names in the Customers section have the error message 'ERROR: no result-set.' An adjustment has been made to the query used for first names. Queries are successful and the error message no longer appears. 8/7/23
Client - Financial If a purchase has been made via the cash register, where part was part via deposit and this deposit payment is refunded, the deposit with the returned to appropriate customer. An adjustment has been made and the customer's deposit will be replaced again by the amount of the partial payment after refund. 7/31/23
Client - Hold In some cases, it was not possible to go to the customer from the holds detail screen. When the system option CUSTBDG was on, the customer could not be queried. A fix has been made that allows going back to the customer through holds without being affected by this system option. 7/31/23
Client - Titles - Order administration When opening the orders tab, newly placed orders were only shown after the screen was refreshed. Newly placed orders are displayed immediately after opening the orders tab in the order administration. Refreshing first is no longer necessary. 7/17/23
Items - BCB/RCB reports - Items action list The items action list shows too many surplus items. This report has been adjusted. If the surplus is 0, no surplus actions are shown in the items action list, action J. 7/10/23
Client - Catalog When searching by words, a different status was appearing in the catalog then when searching by subject. This search has been adjusted so that both sets of results now show the same title status. 7/10/23
Client - Selections When making selections with the set type "Items," no dropdown of temporary shelves was shown in the
"Temp.shelf" section.
At the "Temp.shelf" selection, a dropdown is now available with a list of temporary shelves located at the location where you are logged in. 7/10/23
Client - Customer administration - Deduplication When deduplicating, one actor is chosen to remain. The card number associated with this actor is sometimes called a follower card instead of main card. The card number associated with the remaining actor will now always be the main card, and the card number of the deduplicated borrower will be the follower card. 7/10/23
Client - Catalog When searching for words in the catalog, title with no copies present were displayed as "internal loan." The order in which the statuses of titles are handled has been adjusted. The correct status is now displaying as expected in the catalog. 7/3/23
Client - Titles It was possible to remove titles that still had copies with status - M or Status - I attached to them. Modifications have been made so that titles with status - M or status - I can no longer be removed. 6/26/23
Manager - Port and Profile Management > Ports >Service Desk It was not possible to empty the branch for a service desk profile. <empty> has been added as an option in the dropdown menu so that the branch can now be set to <empty>. 6/19/23
OPAC – My Account > My checkouts On the 'My checkouts' page, a '-null' was placed after the title of borrowed magazines. The '-null' is now no longer displayed. 6/19/23
Client - Statistics and Selections - Selections When changing (adding/removing) a fixed selection, these are not immediately visible. These are only visible after logging into the client again. Changes to a fixed selection are immediately visible after saving (overwrite selection). 6/12/23
Client - Items - BCB/RCB Reports - Items Action List On the Items Action List, the "Shelf" field was not always displayed for some items and remained empty. An adjustment has been made to the code, so the the "Shelf" field is now always filled correctly. 6/12/23
Client - Selections IV0 was not included as a message format choice in Selections. IV0 is now also included as a message format choice. Selections - Customer - BVK - Notifications type IV0. 6/5/23
Client - Holds - Show holds When the client was switched between an active hold and a fulfilled hold with the same title, in some cases the expiration sate of the active hold was shown with the fulfillment hold. With and adjustment to the order in which the hold screen is built, the correct due date is now shown. 6/5/23
Marketing Workbench - Select Customers When assigning a customer label to a customer selection, the message 'No customer labels available' always appeared, even though they were defined. The customer labels are retrieved correctly and can be selected again. 6/5/23
Client - Financial - Overview In the "Financial details" (82) report, the description in the column 'description' is taken from the tables in the Manager instead of from the fin_items table. The description from the booking table is only for booking code 2xx. For the other booking codes, the description is again taken from the fin_items table. 5/29/23
Client - Holds - Overviews The report "Overview copies of ILL deliveries" (192) did not properly include all entered locations when generating the report. After adjusting the underlying query, the report now uses all entered locations. 5/29/23
Client - Item reservations When a bill for material compensation is paid and reservations are open for the relevant title (within that location), those reservations will be stopped, even though other reservable copies remain available.  When the last reservable copy within a location has been removed, any outstanding reservations for that title will be cancelled. Wise only looked at the reservable copies in the current branch, and not outside that branch. This issue has been corrected. 5/22/23
Client - Order Administration When manually reading order files via Files > Import order, the file is not processed, and an error message will display. This issue has been resolved by an adjustment made to the import orders. This error has been resolved. 5/15/23
Client - Financial - Overviews The 'Withdrawn items (85)' and 'Unpaid (86)' reports ask for an institution OR a location. The institution AND location must be filled in, or there will be not results with only a location. It is now possible to select only a location. The report is generated as expected. 5/9/23
systemWise > Massages > Message configuration and workflows An adjustment is needed to prevent OCLC from being marked as a spammer When processing bounces, an inbox notification is now given after 2 and after 5 bounces that the assess is removed from Wise. 5/9/23
Client - Titles - Overviews The Budget Entries report (242) was visible without the proper permissions. The permissions have been changed. This report now requires the Budget_Management function with Location_Read: 1-0-0. 5/9/23
Client - Catalog - Items In the list of items below a title, some fields were incorrectly displaying both a code and a description, when only a code was expected. The column format settings in the back-end were not taken into account when displaying item information. This has been fixed so that the fields display data as expected. 5/4/23
Server > Messages If a customer renewed an item in My Menu, no notice would be generated or sent to the patron. The renewal messages are now being generated and sent as expected. 5/4/23
Manager - Report processor When choosing "first date of the month" in the period field on a query, report or procedure, the value was incorrectly set to "0-never." The choice for "first day of the month" in the period field is saved now saved as "4-first day of month" as expected. 4/24/23
Database/Manager > Customers > Customer Type Definition

When creating a customer type definition in the Manger, the value "0-do not show" is saved in the database for the field "General Terms and Conditions" by default. As a result, the field did not appear during an online registration and the registration could not be completed.

The field "Terms and Conditions" id now configurable in the Manager, the chosen value is saved in the database with values "1 - mandatory" and "2 - optional" fields appear in the registration form. 4/24/23
OPAC - Community Wise Titles on Community Wise lists are not being displayed if another library system has placed the title on their local back catalog. Titles that are on the back catalog at other library systems will no longer be available to add to Community Wise lists. 4/13/23
Client - checkout - customer receipts Lending to a special borrower or administrative card resulted in am empty receipt for receipt type 1 (transaction receipt) and receipt type 6 (status receipt with transactions). When loaned to a special borrower or administrative card, the loaned copies are now shown on receipt 1 and receipt 6. 4/4/23
Item Detail In item record details > screen overview from the log history screen, if you click on a line, the details of this line will be shown at the bottom of the screen. However, if you change the order of the columns in the log history screen overview, the correct details will no longer be shown. If you change the sorting of the columns in the overview of the log history, the correct details are shown when clicking on a line. 4/4/23
Client - renew items When renewing items, the new return date only updated after closing and reopening the Borrowed items screen. The return date is now immediately refreshed upon renewal. 3/28/23
SIP Self - checkout When an item is checked in, and then checked out on the same day via SIP2, any blocks are not considered. As a result, a copy could be erroneously loaned out again. Any blocking conditions are now considered during checkout, when an item is returned and checked out via SIP2 on the same day. 3/21/23
OPAC - Title detail When the 245 field has a subfield p that ends in a slash and then has a subfield n the /n displays to patrons. The /n subfield indicator no longer displays in the patron title detail view. 3/21/23
OPAC - Web catalog If there is a ":" in a title, the title will not appear correctly in the search results. It will only appear as ":"  The title is now displaying correctly. 3/14/23
Client - Lending When checking out an item to a patron with an outstanding fine, the fine temporarily disappears from the customer block. This has been adjusted. The outstanding registration remains during a lending session. 3/14/23
Client - Selections - Batch changes In the batch title change screen, the temporary shelves of the location that was logged in where displayed. The temporary shelves of a selected location were not shown. The correct temporary shelves from the selected branch are now showing as expected. 3/14/23
Client - Catalog

The status of items with a lending block and an "up to" date is not displayed correctly when the "up to" dates in the past.

After adjustment, the status of an item becomes B (available) if a lending block date is in the past. 3/6/23
Client - Catalog When searching on Words, recently deleted titles (title status =Z) are displayed. Newly deleted titles are automatically removed from the SOLR database. A SOLR re-index will remove titles that were deleted before this fix, which is scheduled for the 7.0.4 upgrade. 3/6/23
Client - Customer administration

No first name is listed on printed registration certificates, when printed from via the client

(customer > print customer materials > proof of registration)

An adjustment has been made to the layout of this form and the first name is now included on printed certificates. 3/6/23
Online patron re-registration For patrons with multiple library cards, when re-registering an expired card online, the library where the customer already has an active subscription was used instead of the library where the customer is re-registering.

The error was within the system option PIEABON. If this system option is set to OFF, the shopping cart checks whether the patron has an active subscription in the instance where the patron is currently logged in. If not, it checks whether the actor has an active subscription elsewhere and uses that library.

A fix has now been made to the system option PIEABON. It now only uses the data of the instance in which the patron registers.

Client - Customer administration When renewing overdue materials in the staff client, the original return date is overwritten with the action date. The original return date is now retained for overdue items that are renewed in the staff client. 3/1/23
OPAC - My Account If system option LANRSVP (allow cancellation of hold on hold shelf by customer), is set to OFF, the patron is still able to cancel the hold via the OPAC. The system now respects the LANRSVP setting when using the OPAC. Patrons are no longer able to cancel a hold that is on the hold shelf. 3/1/23
OPAC - Community List In the OPAC, if a community list has over 1,000 titles, you will receive an error when attempting to open the list. Community lists with over 1,000 titles are now able to be opened without error. 3/1/23
Order administration - BCB groups Orders are occasionally distributed to branches outside their own BCB group. An extra check for budget year has been added in combination with BCB group, so that no branches outside their own BCB group will be included in the order distribution. 2/21/23
Client - Order administration When importing a title with an existing title record in Wise, the qualifier for Search Title (AMA) was not updating. The qualifier (AMA) is now corrected in the Search title field when importing a title with an existing Wise title record. 2/21/23
Client - Titles When merging titles, only the first series/series title and associated series number were considered. If there were several series/series titles, they were duplicated if they were also present in the second title.

All series/series titles and associated series numbers are now checked. This prevents duplication of the series/series title with the same number.

Note: pt 1 or PT. 1 or 1 or Part 1 as series/serial number are still not considered identical.

OPAC - Title Details - More Info lab In the OPAC, in the title details screen under the "More Info" tab, an extra "subtitle" field appeared before the "title" and always had "Label" as the entry. The extra subtitle field has been removed and the correct subtitle now displays. 2/21/23
Titles - Subscription Management - Periodical Management

On the Reception Items screen, the list of subscriptions was occasionally not being emptied properly when selecting 'Quit.' 

If 'Process' is then selected for another periodical, Wise indicates that more copies are expected then there actually are.

With each 'Process' action, the list is refreshed again, so that the number of expected copies being recieved is now correct. 2/13/23
OPAC - My Account - My Menu No result is provided under My reservations and My wish list if there is a title with multiple subtitles in the results.

It was wrongly assumed that a title can always have a single subtitle. Therefore an error message occurred in the case of multiple subtitles.

This issue has been resolved.

OPAC

Following the 7.0.3 update to the OPAC layout, author names are no longer linked.
In previous versions, users were able to click on an author in the title detail screen and see other materials by the same author.

 

Author names are now linked to title records in the OPAC when viewing the title detail. 2/7/23
OPAC

If a search in the OPAC does not include diacritics, it is not possible to find terms with diacritics.

It is only possible to find these terms by clicking on it in the search suggestions.

You can now search in the OPAC without diacritics  and receive results with diacritics.

Manager - OverDrive Configuration In the Manager, the index is failing due to the OverDrive Advantage ID field being null/empty in the OverDrive configuration. The index will now run successfully when the OverDrive Advantage field is null/empty. 2/7/23
Manager - Collection Management BCB

When setting up a new BCB group, all BCB cabinets receive a No for rotation, remediation and float. As a result, a lot of corrections have to be made in the BCB, rotation box profules.

When setting up a new BCB group, all BCB cabinets are now receiving a standard, Yes when rotating, remediating and floating. 1/30/23
Client - Catalog An error message is being displayed when a reservation is being made for a title or copy via the catalog, where a copy exists with a non-unique copy number. This has been resolved. No error message is displaying when making a reservation via the catalog for a title with a non-unique copy number. 1/30/23
Client - Finance If switching between payment methods while paying fines for a patron, the F10 shortcut that is intended to add the payment in full and pay will only work a single time. The F10 shortcut is now working as expected when used multiple times. 1/30/23
Client - Item detail screen

In the item detail screen, the Minimum Age field (Change group 5) was reset to the viewer age of the title when a change was made in Change group 2.

If no viewer age was present for the title, the Minimum Age field was set to 0.

The Minimum Age field is no longer updated after changes to Change group 2 are made. 1/24/23
Client - Catalog Titles with items that have a status of F are shown as 'no copies' in the catalog when searching by work or titles (and other search entries). Titles with items the have a status of F are now shown as on loan in the catalog with searching by work of title (and other search entries). 1/24/23
Client - Customer administration Customer badges report are blank. Adjustments have been made and the report is now displaying an overview of customers with a customer badge. 1/24/23
Client - Financial - Journal report The journal report is occasionally missing items, and the report is only complete after re-entry.

This problem stems from the bookings building up over the night run. The procedure does not handle this properly in both cash accounting and invoice accounting.

An adjustment has been made to the composition of these outstanding items, so that they are now included in the report.

Client - Items - Discard The reason for the Discard is no longer displaying in the item screen after the item is Discarded via the menu option. After discarding and item, the reason for discard is now displaying in the item detail screen as expected. 1/17/23
RESTAPI When requesting Patron information via the API, if the patron's username is a duplicate, an error code 500 is returned. The correct patron is now authenticated with no error. 1/17/23
Client - Acquisitions When importing a title from an external source, subfields cannot be added when adding new tags (245 and/or 651). Subfields can be now be added as expected. 1/17/23
OPAC - My Account The System Option "TOONPLT: Display Place in Line" was not respected when set to No. If the system option TOONPLT is set to No, the patron's position in the holds queue will be suppressed in My Account. 1/9/2023
Client - Claim Returned Patrons are being billed (and messaged) for items that were claimed returned (Item status UM - checked out, missing). Items that have been claimed returned (in UM status) will not longer generate a bill. 1/9/2023
Client - Statistics and Selections When editing titles as a set, the Material Type and Youth Material Type were removed, even when no changes were made to those fields. When editing titles as a set, only the selected fields will be changed. 1/9/2023
Manager - Permissions The permission RESERVATION is allowing staff with lower level permissions to create requests for other branches. The lower level for permission RESERVATION will no longer allow staff to create requests for other branches. 1/9/2023
Email - Newsletter Occasionally, when a patron clicks "unsubscribed" within an emailed Newsletter, they are taken to "My Account" in the OPAC without having to log in. The patron will always be prompted to log into My Account before access to granted. 1/9/2023
Server - Send Newsletter Occasionally, if newsletters are sent to a large number of recipients, not all patrons would receive the newsletter. This has been resolved, and all newsletters are being sent as expected. 1/9/2023
Client - Customers - Customer Administration When registering a new customer, 'Show loan history' and 'Notify if title perviously borrowed' are already filled in with yes or no. However, the values are not saved. The values that appear at customer registration are now being saved. 1/9/2023
