Current updates

The following is a list of recent updates and bug fixes. For more information, contact OCLC Support

 Note:  Weekly updates will be present in Wise Test instances on the Wednesday of the week indicated below, and in Production the following Monday.

Manager > Login screen There was a limit on the number of characters when logging into the manager. This applied to the username and password. We have increased the limits so that you can log in with more characters in the username and password fields. 7/6/2026
Client - Reservations If a copy with a different title number but the same FRBR number is used for a reservation, the reservation will not be processed correctly. The reservations now take into account the different title numbers under the same FRBR number. Even when a different title number is returned, it is now correctly assigned to a reservation. 7/6/2026
Client - Selections When making a selection by category type "T - Titles", it was still possible to filter based on the category "Word". This category is no longer supported. The option to select the category "Word" under category type "T - Titles" has been removed. 7/6/2026
OPAC - Grouped
 search results
When a new item was added to a title that included CloudLibrary titles in the group (FRBR results), then the CloudLibrary titles dropped from the group search. CloudLibrary titles
 correctly appear in the grouped search results.

Client > Financial > Journal Report Under the current standard accrual system operation (A-method), entries are closed immediately in the bank/cash journal if they are paid in the same month. The new additional method (F) posts all amounts to be received to the accounts receivable journal.

Payments made in the same month (or later) are written off to the accounts receivable journal. Nothing has changed for the cash accounting system (method C Cash).

Wise API When an item with status '@' was returned, the endpoint failed completely. Item status '@' is not returned by the endpoint. 6/29/2026
Client >  Customer Badges report In the customer badges report, customers without a primary card were shown as empty. For customers without a primary card, the barcode is now shown in the report. 6/29/2026
Client > Statistics and selections Customers that had received a damage note via a batch change could no longer be found via statistics and selections by selecting the damage category "J". An adjustment has been made so that all copies with a damage note can be properly found again via the selections. 6/29/2026
Client - Reservations Placing an item-level hold on items with a status TA (In transport - Acquisitions), I (On order), or F (In operation (loaned to special borrower, no holds allowed)  did not work. The pickup location is now being added correctly, allowing the item-level hold. 6/22/2026
Client > Customer Administration Ending a newsletter in the client resulted in an unclear message under tab 4 - Other. The text has been modified so that it is now easier to understand what has been changed. 6/22/2026
Notifications - Grouped holds When you created a group hold, you received a notification email for each copy. Only one email is now sent per group reservation. 6/22/2026
OPAC > Reserve magazines When reserving magazines, the system first looked at the main branch instead of the home branch when displaying available editions. The customer's home location is now checked first when searching for available magazine copies, followed by the configured search strategy. 4/30/2026
Console > Catalog Search In the Console Catalog search filter, the list of branches for Searchlight filtering only displays the branches in your currently logged-in LO. The list of branches for searchlight
 filtering now shows branches from other LOs

Client > Reservations Paused reservations were not resumed after operations resumed. Upon resumption of the reservation, it will be placed back in the queue. 4/14/2026
Client > Messages > Message overview Messages with a hard bounce were not assigned status R in the message table. As a result, they did not appear in the BIRT overview report. Bounced messages now receive status R and are included again in the relevant BIRT overview reports. 3/23/2026
Client > Customer Administration > Search client Searching by invoice number outside the institution yielded no results. An adjustment has been made so that it is also possible to search by invoice number when searching across all branches. This is only possible within your own financial organization. 3/23/2026
OPAC > My menu > Previously borrowed Customers with an empty blok_log field in the rol_abonnement table received an error message under 'Previously borrowed'.

The empty value occurs if the loan history is set to 'yes' in the Wise Client, but the customer has not made a selection themselves in My menu > My details.
The empty value is now equal to value 'N' (=loan history on yes in My menu). 3/23/2026
Client > Reservations > Picklist In organizations that use large regional reservation networks, generating the Picklist report took a very long time, sometimes leading to a timeout. By adding caching to the local and regional reservation networks, the speed of the report has been significantly improved. 3/23/2026
OPAC > Catalog search Branches that are not public are displaying in the branch filter (Acquisitions, BCB, service points) for libraries because digital collections are being indexed as owning the materials.

This is also causing the count of materials held to look very high because we're showing ALL digital materials under each branch facet count.
Created a container branch for Hoopla
material to properly display Hoopla items as separate from physical materials.

Client > Customer Administration The State field is cleared when changes are made to the patron address tab in the Client. The State field is now properly retained. 3/23/2026
Client > Configuration > System Messages No system message appeared for a new hold request. Due to a caching issue, the list of system notifications was no longer refreshed every minute, causing notifications (pop-up/sound) for new reservations to be absent. This has been resolved. 3/16/2026
Client > Customer Administration There was a display error for charges on a patron's financial items, resulting in duplicate entries for charges. Due to incorrect page retrieval, the 25th entry was displayed twice under outstanding charges and history. This has been corrected; the 25th entry is now displayed only once. 3/16/2026
Client > Catalog > Print title from notepad When printing a title from Notepad, too many sections were displayed (multiples of certain sections) after selecting the "Additional Information" checkbox. This caused the print button to disappear. An adjustment has been made so that the categories are now displayed correctly, and the print button can be clicked again.

Client > Copies > Serial Mutations When performing serial changes through the main menu, users were sometimes able to make changes to copies outside their own location/agency, even though they lacked permissions.

Other routes (such as through the copy details or the title page) were already correctly blocking this.  
Authorization checks are now applied uniformly and consistently for batch changes, regardless of where the action is initiated in the client.

Users without the appropriate permissions can no longer make changes to copies outside their own branch/institution via the main menu. This prevents unauthorized changes.

Client Reports In the client, report (5) Message Overview could be run at the "2-detail" level with a wide date range. This resulted in an overly large dataset, which placed an excessive load on the server. When '2-detail' is selected in the Message Overview, only a single date can be specified. 3/2/2026
Interest alert email The links in the acquisitions notification email were not working. The links in the email now lead to the general page. Customers can then click on the desired profile. 3/2/2026
Client > Catalog In specific cases, title information was not retrieved, and no copies of the title were shown. The client crashed on missing covers. If no cover is found, Wise now displays nothing. 3/2/2026
Client > Circulation Client pop-up notification (desk text)  0519 is shown despite suppression in Manager. Notification 0519 now respects the desk pattern setting "Continue without questions without notification" when collecting missing items. 3/2/2026
Client > Selections A selection of financial items with the category type "date of handling" does not work. The underlying query has been adjusted. The selection based on the processing date is working correctly again. 3/2/2026
Console > Check in When a hold slip is printed, the hold expiration date is sometimes displayed as the same day the hold slip was printed. The hold slips now show the configured "fulfill by" date. 3/2/2026
OPAC > My Menu > Financial The "Recent Payments" tab displays an error and will not load. Payment history retrieval has been restored, and the tab now correctly displays recent transactions again. 3/2/2026
Client > Statistics and selections Removing fixed sets made by other users was not possible with any permission level Deleting fixed sets that were created by other users is now possible with the Management of Statistics and selections  permission on 15-15-15. 02/09/2026
Client > Customer Administration

The "Other" tab added a username to the log lines where no user member was known (for example, in changes caused by customer imports).

If a user subsequently changed something else, this did not change in the actor_log table and no username was displayed.

The Client now properly retrieves the log lines from the actor_log table. 02/09/2026
Database > Follow-up Actors were wrongly left with customer badges even though they had been deregistered. The actor's customer badge will also be removed via the night run if the actor is no longer a member. 02/09/2026
Client > Reservations When placing a hold, an incorrect pick-up location from a previous session was sometimes suggested because a temporary table was not cleared. The temporary table in the reservation procedure is now correctly cleaned up so that the correct pick-up location is suggested. 01/26/2026
Interest alert email The links in the Areas of Interest email messages were not working. The links in the email now lead to the general page. Customers can then click on the desired profile. 01/26/2026
SIP2 When a customer submitted a notification, SIP2 returned 20 AF lines (Notifications) the first time it called request63. This caused messages to be unreadable or difficult to read on the self-service terminal screens. Response 64 now returns a maximum of 4 AF fields, which is equal to the number of fields found in the Wise client. 01/12/2026
