Item Missing or Damage note

Learn how to add, edit, and delete a damage note or mark an item as missing in the Wise Console catalog.

Add a damage note to an item

To add, edit, or delete a damage note:

  1. In the Wise Console, search for the title in the Catalog.
  2. Click on the title to open the catalog drawer.
  3. Locate the item in the group tab.
  4. Select the item's barcode to open the item detail screen.
  5. In the notes section click on the damage tab.
  6. Add a note to the damage note field.
  7. Click, Save.

Manage a damage note

Within the damage note field you have the option to Save or Cancel.

If you choose to cancel the note, the damage note field is cleared and the action buttons disappear until you type into the field again.

Once you have finished adding the damage note, click Save. The action buttons disappear, and a (1) is added to the damage note tab, indicating the number of damage notes on the item.

Edit a damage note

Library staff have the option to add multiple lines to the damage note field, in order to capture multiple damage notes.

To edit the damage note:

  1. Click within the damage note box to begin editing.
  2. To add additional lines, hit the return key at the end of the first note.

     Note: You can adjust the size of the size of the text box by dragging the diagonal lines at the bottom right.

  3. Once you have finished editing the note, click, Save.
  4. If you want to cancel your edit, click Cancel. The text will return to its previous state.

Mark an item missing

To mark an item missing:

  1. In the Wise console, navigate to the Catalog.
  2. Search for the missing item, click on the title to open the catalog drawer.
  3. Locate the item in the group tab
  4. Click on the item's barcode to open the item detail screen
  5. Click, Status
  6. Select MISSING, action buttons will appear.
  7. Select, Save.  A pop-up will appear, confirming you selection.
