Learn about settings in the Wise configuration manager outside of the ticketWise area that must be set up in order to use ticketing.

Ticket licenses

The license LIC_TICKETWISE is required to use Wise Ticketing. To enable the license, contact OCLC Support.

Online ticket sales configuration

In order to offer online ticket sales to non-library members, you must configure your system to allow the practice. Create a new Online membership process or edit an existing process, and linking the process to your branch location customers. When the process is configured, you can determine which registration options are available in the web catalog whether or not the account is blocked upon registration until it is validated by the library.

Online membership process

To allow non-library members to purchase tickets in your Online membership process:

  1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to OCLC Wise > Products and services > Memberships > Card Configuration > Online membership process.
  2. Click New or to edit an existing process, click Detail next to the process you want to update. The Online membership process window opens.
  3. Enter process information. If you are editing an existing process, click Change to make changes.
    Field name Description
    Code A two-digit code.
    Description A text description of the method.
    Registration of regular membership allowed Check this box if regular library memberships can be registered for online.
    Registration of newsletter/guest membership permitted Check this box if the customer can sign up for newsletters or guest memberships online.
    Registration for ticket sales is allowed

    Check this box if the public (not library customers) can purchase tickets for library events online via the webcat.

     Note: You must select Registration for ticket sales is allowed to enable non-library members to purchase tickets online.

    Block pubcat Check this box to suppress online registration methods for all branches that configure this method.
    Ask about reading disability on web Check this box to display an option for reading disabilities in the web catalog.
    Notification at service desk A text message that will appear in the customer record as soon as the customer registers for a membership. The text entered here will be stored in the customer record, under the Notification tab.
  4. Click OK to save.

Specify the membership process 

Once an online registration process is created to allow online sale of tickets to non-members, the process must be linked to your branch locations.

To link the process to a location:

  1. In the Wise configuration manager, go to OCLC Wise > Management organizations > Branches.
  2. Click Open next to your library system.
  3. Click Detail next to the branch you want to update. The Branch window opens.
  4. Click the Customers tab.
  5. Click Change and select the Online membership process you created from the drop-down list.
  6. Click OK to save.

Create a membership definition 

In order to allow non-library members to purchase tickets online, you must create a membership definition for non-members. To create a new membership definition:

  1. In Wise configuration manager, go to Products and services > Memberships > Membership settings > Membership definitions
  2. Click Open next to your Library Organization.
  3. Click New at the top of the screen.
  4. Provide information for the membership definition fields
    • In order to allow non-members to purchase tickets, enter the following information for these fields:
      • Type membership: 5 - Temporary
      • Customer group: N - Anonymous
  5. Click Ok to save the definition.
