View reports

Learn how to view, export, and print BIRT reports in Wise.

View reports

 Note: BIRT reports can only be accessed from an active session in the Wise client or Manager. Report URLs can no longer be accessed after the session is over. 

BIRT report screen

The buttons in the upper-left corner perform the following actions within the report:

Button Action
A Toggle table of contents. The report moves to the right and the table of contents displays in a column to the left.
B Allows you to filter data in the report. For example, if the report was run including all branches, a specific branch can be selected to view.
C Export data. For more information, see Export data.
D Export report. For more information, see Export report.
E Print report. For more information, see Print report.

The buttons in the upper-right corner allow you to navigate through report pages.

Export data

The export data option is used to export selected data to another format, such as Excel or .calc for Open Office. To export data:

  1. Click the Export data (report_data_export_icon.png) button in the top right corner of the screen. The Export data screen opens.
  2. Select an Available result set from the drop-down list.
  3. Select the data to export from the Available Columns list.
    • To add all of the columns, click the double arrow (>>).
    • To add individual columns, click the single arrow (>).
    • To remove a column, click the single arrow (<).
    • To remove all columns, click the double arrow (<<).
    • To change the order of the selected columns, use the up and down arrow buttons.
  4. Select an Export format from the drop-down list.
  5. Select an Output encoding type. The default selection is UTF-8.
  6. Select a Separator from the drop-down list. The separator that is required depends on the program and/or desired output to be used.
  7. Check the following boxes to enable:
    • Export column's data type
    • Export data with Carriage Return
    • Export column as locale neutral
  8. Click OK to confirm. A window opens in which you must indicate which output program you are using, or to save the file.
  9. Click OK to continue. The data is exported to the selected spreadsheet program. The file can be used to further process data.

Export report

Reports can be exported to external files from the web browser window.

  1. Click the Export report (report_export_icon.png) button in the top left corner of the screen. The Export report screen opens.
  2. Select an Export format from the drop-down list.
  3. Select which pages to print from the Pages section:
    • All pages
    • Current page
    • Pages (enter the desired page or page range)
  4. Select a Fit To format:
    • Auto - The size is automatically determined. This may cause a PDF file to flow improperly; the page ends do not correspond to the PDF output. To prevent this, select Actual size.
    • Actual size - The current size is used in the output file (size is unchanged).
    • Fit to whole page - The file size is changed to fit the page (current size is the size of  the file, no matter what; the end result is not always legible).
  5. Click OK to confirm. A window opens in which you must indicate which output program you are using, or to save the file.
  6. Click OK to confirm. The report is exported to a file of the selected program. The file can be used to further process data.

Print report

Reports can be printed directly from the web browser.

  1. Click the Print report (report_print_icon.png) button in the top right corner of the screen. The Print report screen opens.
  2. Select a Print Format:
    • HTML - the report is immediately printed. This option is faster, a print out is immediately created.
    • PDF - select an option to save as PDF format or print in the layout of a PDF. This option generates a nicer looking layout and offers the option to view before printing. If the generated PDF does not have the correct page brakes, use the Export report option and select Actual size.
  3. Select the Page(s) you want to print:
    • All pages
    • Current page
    • Pages (enter the desired page or page range(s). For example: 1-6 or 1,3,6).
  4. Click OK. The report is printed.
