OPAC homepage guide

Find an overview of the new OPAC homepage.

The new Wise OPAC homepage contains several elements. These are briefly explained below:

Section Description
1 Login. See Register and login for more information.
2 As of 8.0.0 it is possible to change the language of the new OPAC. Use the drop-down menu to select between Dutch and English.
3 If configured, links to sign up for library newsletter and become a member (subscribe online) will appear here.
4 Click on the branch name or change icon to switch to a different location. Branches from the same instance with category I and sector BIEB will be shown, if "Display in web catalog" is selected in the branch table for the location.
5 The current library branch set for the OPAC.

Navigation menu. You can choose which sections are displayed from the Wise Manager. See OPAC menu configuration for more information.

7 Catalog search.

As of version 8.0.1, you can choose here whether to display one or more title carousels (up to three). You can display them in tabs, or one below the other. For more information for setting up carousels, see Carousel.

9 Future releases (after 8.0.1) will allow you to choose to display Youth links to KidsWise and My menu.

Recent Community activities by library users (across all Wise libraries) Five activities are shown. As of version 8.0.1, you can choose whether to show the Community activities on the home page or not. For more information, see Styling the new Wise OPAC.
